Custom Assembler Finisher - 3rd Shift

Eaton’s Electrical Power Reliability Division is currently seeking a Custom Assembler – Finisher – 3rd Shift to join our team. This position is based at our South Milwaukee, WI facility.


The Custom Assembler is responsible for performing a variety of diversified sub and final assembly operations on our padmount switchgear product line which contain a large number of parts and substantial fitting and aligning of components.

In this function you will:
  • Perform a variety of diversified sub and final assembly operations on our padmount switchgear product line which contain a large number of parts and substantial fitting and aligning of components.

  • Set-up, build & palatize padmount Switchgear Units

  • Screen defective parts or make adjustments as necessary.

  • Work independently, be a self-starter and pay close attention to detail.

  • Interact with other departments as needed for advice and decisions.

  • Perform work from specifications, and/or communicated instructions.

  • Be responsible for your own work, under minimal supervision and instructions.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of manufacturing experience.

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without out company sponsorship, now or in the future.

  • No relocation is being offered for this role.  All candidates considered must live within 50 miles of the South Milwaukee, WI location.  Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in complex electrical and mechanical assembly.

  • Follow Standard Work.
  • Use and operate necessary or required equipment, products, and assembly procedures.

  • Ability to read and use drawings, routings, blue prints, specifications, part numbers, and other shop documents affecting this position.

  • Must be able to walk/stand for an eight (8) hour shift with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Must be able to lift 48lbs and push/pull 48lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
