Eaton’s Vehicle Group North America division is currently seeking a MFG Engineering Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Aguascalientes facility.

The MFG Engineering Manager is responsible for Oversee and lead the plant engineering functions to achieve the business growth, cost and safety objectives, while driving innovation and standard work practices and a technical vision for the plant operation.

Some activities related with the position will be:

  • Directs analytical problem solving and creativity/innovation to improve key business drivers.

  • Definition of the plant footprint strategy through the application of technical manufacturing engineering expertise/knowledge.

  • Leads in the capital planning process to improve overall capability and efficiency in the plant.

  • Supervises the feasibility of new projects through the Project Management area.

  • Coordinates engineering and manufacturing engineering activities to provide an optimum support to production area and utilization of human resources, machines and equipment. 

  • Maintain and maximize the utilization of the corporate assets of plant building and grounds, machine tools, process equipment.

  • Support and drive full compliance with Eaton Business Excellence and Eaton Lean Six Sigma criteria.

  • Review and execute competitive, long- and short-term business plans.

  • Develop and communicate initiatives to measure and improve key business drivers (i.e., customer satisfaction, growth, profitability and asset management, quality, excellence through people).

  • Builds organizational capabilities to support a high-performance culture through mentoring and developing team members. 

  • Develop and implement plans to enhance the quality of work life within the plant by assuring that open channels of communication exist with employees; participative employee teams are cultivated and trained; and clean, safe working conditions are maintained.

  • Demonstrate the application of the 8 CIF modules and support related initiatives on daily basis through establishing, maintaining and complying his/her Standard Work and other tools.  Participate in Kaizen events, Lean Council and Continuous Improvement teams when required.  Generate ideas for improvement according with the local programs.  Implement and optimize Lean Management tools.  Sustain the ELLS tools (VSM, 5´s, TMP, STW, Set up, Problem Solving, Materials Management and 6 Sigma) to drive the continuous improvement performance when apply.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of engineering, manufacturing, materials/purchasing and quality assurance methods and practices

  • Deep knowledge of Assembly and Machining equipment, developed and implemented of Assembly and Machining production lines utilizing lean concepts (optimized machine utilization, labor, floor space and material flow)

  • Strong financial acumen with knowledge of capital equipment analysis, cost accounting, budgeting, project cost analysis and long term maintenance analysis
