Eaton’s Life Safety division is currently seeking a HR Generalist to join our team. This position is based at our Long Branch, NJ facility.
The HR Generalist will support, coordinate and monitor full scope of human resources activities and services for the Long Branch facility, under the direction of the Human Resources Manager. Specific responsibilities include HR administrative support, assessment & selection, employee relations, inclusion & diversity, manager and employee onboarding, reporting & analytics; and performance management.

Support the HR Manager with the implementation of strategic initiatives to build organizational capability by attracting, developing and retaining top talent for all jobs
Lead the assessment& selection process including, management of requisition workload, participating with interview teams and maintaining hiring metrics
Support the execution of key talent management processes by ensuring accurate data, communication and deployment
- Maintain, update and deliver the New Hire Orientation Program
Support mid-level employee relations (ER) activities to resolve conflict or controversy
Support various HR initiatives and deployments (EE survey, compensation planning, etc.)
Support adhoc HR reporting and audits for assigned functions by utilizing with HR Services and other CoE’s
Answer or direct managers and employees on various inquiries to ensure they are supplied with the appropriate resources to resolve questions (HRS, ER, Fidelity, Portal, etc.)
Monitor the Return to Work process and Leaves of Absences with Sedgwick and Corporate HR
Support local Inclusive Eaton Resource Groups (iERGs) with increasing participation through events, etc.
- Support and participate in Union negotiations for local contract
- Special projects and other duties as needed

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 2 years of HR experience
- Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Only candidates currently located within a 50 mile radius of Long Branch, NJ, will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Industrial Relations, etc. from an accredited institution
- MBA from an accredited institution
- Experience working in a union environment
- Labor Relations experience
Demonstrated ability to work consultatively with managers and employees, including ability to proactively engage senior level managers
Knowledge of federal and state employment and labor laws, (ADA, OFCCP, EEOC, Wage and Hour, State Unemployment Compensation, State Worker's Compensation, etc.)
Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects across multiple functions
Knowledge of HR systems and reporting (e.g. Oracle)
Demonstrate strong ethics and values; be widely trusted; direct and truthful, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and gain confidence.
Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to influence and coach at multiple levels of the organization
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software packages (e.g. Word, Excel, Org Plus, and PowerPoint)
