The vehicle group is seeking a Supply Chain and Materials Co-op at the Galesburg, MI site.
This role will support the
Materials Management function within the areas of customer scheduling and or
material planning. Focus will be providing superior customer service on the
assigned accounts and or planning the demand requirements to fulfill their
purchase orders on time while maintaining focus on key metrics. Additionally,
the student in this role will be responsible for using standard tools and
interacting with different functions, included, but not limited to: Plant
Operations, Materials, Purchasing, Finance, Quality, Aftermarket, etc.… This
position also focuses on continuous improvement and assignment goals may be
adjusted based on the interests of, and input from the student coupled with current
business priorities. This role will work part time year around with
flexible work hours for classes and the opportunity to work full time in the
Material Planning Essential Responsibilities:
Support material’s goals and initiatives (On time delivery, Inventory reduction, Premium freight control) and execute related tasks
Review demand shortages and assures material availability for the productive plants
Plan purchased items according to their min-max range
Control daily critical items and communicate in a timely manner with manufacturing facilities and or customer scheduling
Commercial Support: order entry, price checking, order clearing, complaint handling, coordination of delivery and billing
Interface with customers, logistics, manufacturing, sales, pricing and all other internal functions supporting the business
Own end-to-end order status management (order fulfilment, customer requests, product changes & returns)
Proactively act to understand and solve customer needs and identify solutions to non-standard task/queries.
Actively enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Supply Chain Management or Industrial Engineering at an accredited institution.
Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.
No relocation is offered for this position. Only candidates located within 50 miles of Galesburg, MI will be considered for this position.
A minimum GPA of 3.00 or better is required (please do not round)
Previous internships or co-ops in purchasing or materials management preferred.
Experience in Microsoft Excel and Power BI preferred
Leadership in school or community organizations preferred
Communication, customer service and interpersonal skills necessary to converse with senior management, customers, suppliers, and operations
Ability to coordinate cross-functional / global / external teams
- Data analytical skills
Ability to manage time with various projects and personnel
