EHS Technician

Job Description

To Eaton’s Electrical division is currently seeking an EHS Technician to join our first shift team. This position is based at our Raleigh, NC facility.

Position Overview:

The EHS Technician will assist with environment, health and safety activities to assure the organization develops a strong EHS culture and assist in value-add, sustainable actions to improve EHS metrics.

In this function you will:
  • Help deploy and improve EHS programs that apply to the plant
  • Create, coordinate and conduct EHS training
  • Lead the CPO Safety Committee
  • Address and correct plant EHS issues
  • Manage and track plant EHS hazard identification program
  • Participate in EHS audits
  • Identify EHS related opportunities for improvement
  • Support managing programs to ISO 14001, OHSAS 1800, and MESH standards
  • Support EHS Balanced Score Card and Safety Metrics efforts
  • Provide EHS support for plant projects
  • Cross train in the Quality Specialist role to serve as a back-up when needed

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 5 years working in a Manufacturing, Quality, or EHS environment
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.  Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered.  Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree
  • Working knowledge and experience with computers
  • Emergency First Responder Experience is preferred
  • Applicable Certification or licensure is preferred
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001, OHSAS 1800, and MESH standards is preferred
  • Willingness to make decisions and take the lead in emergency situations
