Eaton’s North America Electrical Sales Division is currently seeking an Area Sales Manager to join our Datacenter Vertical Sales team. This position is based at our Glendale Heights, IL location.

Position Overview:
The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for managing sales resources and channels to market to achieve planned results for the region. In this role you will provide leadership and development to a sales team consisting of sales professionals, sales agents, channel partners and customers. The Area Sales Manager will have superior knowledge and demonstrate a leadership style and behaviors consistent with Eaton’s values and philosophies. The position necessitates analytical thinking, leveraging data-driven arguments to make decisions as well as the ability to understand, communicate and meet customer needs

In this function you will:
  • Negotiate, cope with ambiguity, work through complex problems, and manage conflict.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum five (5) years in the electrical or datacenter industry with sales/marketing and/or experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of technology or Datacomm channel sales experience.
  • Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only Candidates within a 50 - mile radius of Glendale Heights, IL. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
 Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in marketing or business-related field.
  • Manager of people experience.
  • Preferred IT and/or Data Communications channel experience.
  Position Success Criteria:
  • Previous experience managing people and channels.
  • Superior knowledge of sales techniques, customers, customer relations and employee development.
  • Strong knowledge of managing products, product applications and distribution channels.
  • Significant sales presence such as that the candidate can clearly command in difficult sales situations.
  • Experience in growing sales and market share, channel development and developing employee talent.
