Director of Supply Chain

Job Description

Eaton’s Electrical Canada Division is seeking a Director of Supply Chain.  This position will be based in our Burlington, Ontario location.

This position will lead the Supply Chain Management function for the Electrical Canada Division, Electrical Americas. The Supply Chain Director will develop and execute short and long-term plans to achieve the annual profit plan, aligning strategic initiatives with Electrical Americas. Scope includes approximately 200 employees across multiple manufacturing and distribution locations with primary responsibility for: warehousing and distribution, Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Global Trade functions.  The position will work closely with the Operations function to ensure all inventory-related metrics and performance are achieved.

 
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deploy the strategic supply chain strategy and plans for inventory, inventory movement, along with material plans that support sales and inventory objectives simultaneously for a multi-product business
  • Execute the integrated SIOP program for all operations to achieve financial objectives.  Oversee the monthly SIOP process (integrating forecasts, open orders, capacity and material ordering levels)
  • Drive change through improved organizational capability, providing leadership in recruiting, goal alignment, employee development, performance management and communication.  Ensure motivation and retention of a high-performance management team and culture
  • Set appropriate staffing levels through the profit planning process.
  • Support Trade Management programs; enabling an effective flow of goods in and out of Canada.
  • Develop, review and revise departmental budgets for Supply Chain and Logistics
  • Devise effective supply chain analytics that enable the business and site locations to improve performance
  • Develop and execute strategic capital spending plans for the function to assure adequate capacity to meet growth objectives
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with key suppliers (internal and external) to ensure high quality relationships and products
  • Demonstrate a leadership style that perpetuates an inclusive and diverse culture, while embracing the Eaton Code of Ethics 
Position Criteria
  • Strong communication, negotiation, customer service, and interpersonal skills necessary to converse with diverse group of stakeholders including senior management, operations, and Supply Chain Management personnel
  • Strong collaborative skills with the proven ability to drive change and leadership ownership/accountability

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience with progressive levels of accountability and responsibility in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, OPEX and/or related support functions
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada on an ongoing basis without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
  • APICS or CPIM certification
  • Electrical industry knowledge
  • Experience inventory / fleet management
  • Oracle experience
  • Experience in leading teams in multiple locations
  • Supply Chain leadership experience 
Education:
  • An undergraduate degree is required.  A Master’s degree is preferred
