The primary responsibility to design, develop and test the airborne software products complete with respect to DO178B/ C, DO254 DAL Level A/B/C/D/E testing conforming to required standards as per FAA /EASA and to customer specific requirements.

  • Lead multiple large-scale projects while working with global teams.

  • Lead the software Design, Development and Testing efforts by working in compliance to DO178B/C  software guidelines

  • Evaluate business requirements to determine potential solutions. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the value proposition and quality of the engineering deliverables.

  • Work directly with stakeholders, engineering, and test to create high quality products that solve customer problems.

  • Provide work estimates and conduct design, implementation, and code reviews

  • Continuously develop and enhance the technical capabilities of the teams to provide best in class design solutions in line with present and future business needs. Provide timely status and reports to stakeholders.

  • Interview and provide technical assessments of potential engineer hires

  • Coach and mentor team members, assisting them in technical and process areas

  • Drive culture of innovation with focus on new patent and high-impact ideas.

  • Creates, and sustains process for design standards and procedures governing product design verification and Validation methods and documents.

Qualifications

Requirement: 

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Electrical/Instrumentation/Computer Science

  • Desired: Master’s degree in Electronics/Electrical/Instrumentation/Computer Science 

  • 10+ years Embedded software development on 8/16/32 bit microcontrollers/DSP based hardware systems.

  • Core development-  Embedded C, C++ and Experience in an Embedded Systems design, development

  • Experience in Software verification (Requirements, Design, Code reviews) and validation (Unit, Integration, System testing). At least 2-3 projects with full software life cycle.

  • Experience with some Communication protocols – Serial RS232, SPI, I2C, CAN, Aerospace – Arinc429, Arinc825, CAN tools

  • Experience in handling Independent SOI audits with end Customer or with DERs

  • Independently develop modules/drivers including debugging and testing

  • Hands on experience with Debuggers, Emulators or simulators.

  • Technical documentation and Requirement Management. Knowledge and awareness of software life-cycle process and configuration management.

  • Strong knowledge of embedded software development guidelines/compliance - preferably DO-178B/C

  • Experience in White box, Black box, Integration Testing – Writing and executing test cases.

  • Knowledge of software design methods

  • Use of a problem reporting tool

  • Experience with hardware / software integration

  • Contribute to Technical reviews, guide and mentor junior engineers

  • Excellent communications skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

  • A high degree of aptitude, creativity, and self-direction is required

  • Ability to work with others.

  • Good knowledge of software development with 16 Bit/ 32 Bit microcontrollers/DSPs.

  • Knowledge on Electric Motors and drives

  • Knowledge of Model based development using Matlab, Simulink

  • Familiarity with configuration/change management processes

  • Experience with real time operating systems (RTOS).

  • Experience with DOORS

  • Exposure to Aerospace products and related subsystems

  • Familiarity with cross compilers and design tools are desired. Hands-on experience with logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.

  • Experience on DO-178B, DO-254 DAL A/B Software Considerations in Airborne Systems and Equipment Certification 

  • Software FMEA and related DFSS tools

  • Experience in industries with safety-critical requirements in aerospace or vehicles

  • Requirement management processes and tools:  preferably DOORS, Requisite Pro

  • Configuration Management processes and tools: ClearCase, Clear Quest

  • Process models and standards, DO-178B, CMMI
