Sr. Machine Programmer - 2nd Shift

Eaton’s Industrial sector is currently seeking a SR Machine Programmer on 2nd shift to join our team. This position is based at our Camarillo, CA.

In this function you will:
  • Performs new setups on all machines in assigned work areas including: CNC program loading, tool and fixture change, offset adjustments and first piece inspection verification.

  • Modifies  programs to correct errors or compensate for cutting tool substitutions.

  • Ability to create programs from scratch.
  • Performs all changeovers/setups, including loading program, choosing and setting tools, and running machine.

  • Measures dimensions on own work using measuring tools and gauges provided to ensure compliance with specified dimension.

  • Ability to make parts of any complexity
  • Receives and follows training in new machine operations, product quality, safety and housekeeping provided by area leader to meet production requirements.

  • Works in a safe manner and performs housekeeping duties to maintain safety

  • Assures proper maintenance of a safe and clean work area.
  • Notifies area leader of any malfunction, out of tolerance or out of control condition, or any abnormal situation.

  • Provides direction and training to Machinists 1-3.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Minimum 10 years experience in setups and machine operation

  • Ability to read and understand work instructions in English

  • Ability to verbally communicate in English

  • Ability to carry work materials up to 25 pounds and lift work materials up to 60 inches above the floor

  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in arms regulations. All applicants must be U.S. Persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. Person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on an ongoing basis without company sponsorship

  •  No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.  Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Camarillo will be considered.  Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Ability to understand complex blueprints
  • 5+ years Programming experience
  • Basic knowledge of math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, fractions and negative numbers)

  • Ability to load/unload materials
  • Ability to tighten and loosen clamping mechanisms
  • Ability to use measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, drop indicator and optical comparator. CMM experience a plus.

  • Able to communicate safety instruction and train employee on safe handling of parts and equipment

  • Ability to calculate tolerance zones from unilateral and bilateral tolerances
