Galesburg, MI has an opening for a Supply Chain Co-Op starting in April 2020 working part time while attending school.
This role will support the development of purchasing
strategies aligned with the organization’s goals and deploy these strategies
for the ferrous metal’s category. Areas of focus may include data analytics,
negotiations, contract management, ERP systems management, leading supplier
meetings, and global engagement. Additionally, the student in this role will be
responsible for using our tools and interacting with different functions,
included, but not limited to, Finance, Supplier Quality, Plant Managers,
Materials, etc. This position also focuses on continuous improvement and
assignment goals may be adjusted based on the interests of, and input from, the
student coupled with current business priorities.
Support purchasing’s goals and initiatives (Payment Terms, Cost-Outs, VAVE, Should-Costing) and execute related tasks.
- Assist the team with their metrics reporting.
Contribute in the deployment of the category’s strategy and support supplier relationships.
Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Supply Chain Management or Industrial Engineering at an accredited institution.
Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.
No relocation is offered for this position. Only candidates located within 50 miles of Galesburg, MI will be considered for this position.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher
Previous internships or co-ops in purchasing or materials management preferred.
Experience in Microsoft Excel and Power BI preferred
Leadership in school or community organizations preferred
Communication, customer service and interpersonal skills necessary to converse with senior management, suppliers, operations and SCM personnel
Ability to coordinate cross-functional / global / external teams
- Data analytical skills
Ability to manage time with various projects and personnel
