Global Supplier Quality Manager

Eaton’s Electrical Sector is currently seeking a Global Supplier Quality Manager for its Global Crouse Hinds, B Line, and Oil & Gas Divisions. 

No relocation benefit is being offered for this role. This position can be based out of any Eaton U.S. facility or approved U.S. based remote/home office.

Position Overview:


The Global Supplier Quality Manager will be responsible for development, deployment and execution of supplier performance improvement processes in alignment with business initiatives and priorities, the Eaton Quality Management System, and Corporate strategies, policies and procedures. The position works closely with Group, Division and plant quality and SCM leaders to manage the performance of a highly capable supply base to support the achievement of business goals. This role will work closely with functional leadership with strategy development, deployment of standard processes and tools, and drives improvement of key supplier performance metrics across Crouse Hinds, B-Line and Oil and Gas.

In this function you will:
  • Provide functional support for deployment of supplier performance management tools and processes to drive overall improvement in supplier performance with an intense focus on highest impact, poorest performing suppliers. Develops strategy to establish and improve relationship with supplier and improvement that drives overall business metrics.  

  • Work directly with regional, divisional and plant Quality and SCM teams to engage key suppliers to drive improved quality and delivery results using proven EQMS methodologies and analytical problem-solving tools.

  • Support new supplier qualification and the Supplier Site Assessment process, liaising with the Pune SSC team, in support of sourcing initiatives related to NPD, STP, cost out, localization, etc.

  • Responsible for Division deployment and refinement of supplier development and performance improvement processes such as Business Reviews for strategic suppliers, Focus Supplier and SQPI processes, including procurement, quality and delivery metrics.

  • Systematically gather and report supplier performance metrics including monitoring, trending, and analysis for the Division so that actionable data is available for sourcing decisions, supplier performance reviews, selection of suppliers for quality development and supplier recognition. Evaluates results and oversees the supplier development of improvement plans to close gaps and goals.

  • Partner with the Corporate SAP QM teams and functional leaders, coordinates projects to effectively implement and deploy SAP QM system level improvements and improve the accuracy of the PPM and OTP data maintained in SAP for all Crouse Hinds, B Line and Oil and Gas sites

  • Take an active leadership role in the PROLaunch process to ensure flawless product and/or process launches with suppliers. Responsible to ensure that supplier quality deliverables are completed according to standard per the pre-gate functional review process.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution required.

  • Minimum seven (7) years of combined experience in Quality, Supplier Quality and/or Supply Chain Management role

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • APQP & PPAP, Analytical / statistical problem solving tools.

  • Previous leadership/management experience
  • Strategic thinking, Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Detailed knowledge of ISO9000 quality system requirements

  • Expert skills in using and training quality tools (i.e. Fishbone Diagrams, 5-Whys, 8D, Gage R&R, FMEA, SPC, etc.).

  • Certification by the American Society for Quality as Six Sigma Black Belt or Certified Quality Engineer

  • Certification in project management, quality management, six sigma, and lean concepts is preferred
