As a Hardware Engineering Team Leader you will lead a team of 7 hardware engineers, having hands on active involvement in the delivery of a mix of products ranging from low volume, high value rugged industrial workstations, to high volume intrinsically safe isolators/barriers. 



Your key deliverables:


  • Active participation in a culture of continuous improvement

  • Providing system engineering leadership and guidance for the project team in the design and development of new products and maintenance of the existing product line

  • Capturing, specifying and managing design requirements

  • Designing and developing new products in accordance with agreed design specifications, schedule and cost targets, ensuring a high standard of product quality and reliability

  • Supervising and assisting in the development of other engineers

  • Leading the performance of peer and formal design reviews. Ensure that reviews are robust, productive and treated as an integral part of the design process

  • Ensuring that Design to Cost, Design for Manufacture and Design for Test best practices are followed

  • Ensuring the adoption of best practices

  • Participation in the definition of product roadmaps

  • Maintaining an awareness of current industry trends and maintaining relationships with suppliers to make best use of emerging technologies

  • Supporting concept/bids phase evaluation of projects with respect to task identification/estimation

  • Developing and maintaining key stakeholder relationships with suppliers, customers and other parts of the organization

  • Providing technical support to Sales, Marketing, Operations and external customers

Qualifications

 

Are you?

 

 

 

Required:

 

  • Degree level or equivalent in Electronic Engineering discipline

  • Experience in electronics engineering

  • Analog and/or digital electronics in high volume markets

  • Strong people management skills

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to lead others to do the same

  • Ability to write clear and unambiguous process and product documentation

  • A Six-Sigma background would be valuable
