Eaton's site in Espoo is a Center of Excellence for 3 phase UPS design for the EMEA -region. We have a 30 person strong R&D organization on site which collaborates globally with different stakeholders in the pursuit of new product development.

We are currently looking for summer trainees to join our development teams to help maintain and create new features and functions for the next generation of Eaton UPS devices. We have opening for summer interns: firmware, electrical, mechanical and validation engineering.

Qualifications

What we are looking for in a FW trainee:
  • You have completed your basic Electrical Engineering courses
  • You have experience with programming in C and/or C++
  • You are interested in electronics and coding
  • You are proficient in English
  • The following would be an advantage:
    • Knowledge of embedded systems
    • Knowledge of other languages such as Python
    • Electronics and coding as a hobby
What we are looking for in an Electrical trainee:
  • You are soon finishing your degree in Electrical Engineering
  • You understand electrical measurements and have experience of using measuring equipment
  • You are proficient in English
  • You have the safety awareness required to work in a laboratory with hazardous voltages
  • You have hands-on working skills
  • The following would be an advantage:
    • Expertise in power electronics
    • Experience with electrical circuit simulation tools (e.g. PSIM, PLECS)
    • Knowledge of embedded systems
What we are looking for in a Mechanical trainee:
  • You are studying a degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • You are interested in mechanics and manufacturing
  • You have experience with 3D modelling tools (e.g. Creo, SolidWorks)
  • You are proficient in English
  • You have hands-on working skills
  • The following would be an advantage:
    • Experience in sheetmetal manufacturing and assembly work
    • Experience or interesting in thermal simulation and structure analysis
What we are looking for in a Validation trainee:
  • You are studying a degree in Electrical Engineering
  • You understand electrical measurements and have experience of using measuring equipment
  • You are proficient in English
  • You have the safety awareness required to work in a laboratory with hazardous voltages
  • You have hands-on working skills
  • The following would be an advantage:
    • Experience in electrical testing of products
    • Experience with power electronics e.g. frequency drives
