Eaton’s Golf Pride division is currently seeking a North American Development Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Pinehurst, NC office. Relocation assistance will be provided.

This key leadership role manages product development activities with primary focus on the NA OEM sector. In addition, the role will support Research leading to exciting and innovative solutions for both Swing and Putter categories.
The position will leverage the global product development infrastructure to support design, tooling, material development, process development and testing to achieve product development goals, and collaborate cross functionally to maintain an efficient communication channel for all active programs.
The incumbent will support the integration of the GIC into the Global Product Development function through collaboration, technology sharing and alignment of working standards and communication methods. You will strive to achieve a seamless and efficient transfer from the GIC to the factory teams.
You will also support global communication practices that accurately and regularly communicate project status and change in priorities, highlight issues and CTQ's to support customers both internal and external. Facilitate the efficient transition of products into manufacturing as Pilot validated designs ensuring products launch on the agreed SOP (Start of Production) Date.

Lead the NA OEM Swing-grip and Putter development activities delivering on the internal OTD to SOP goals.
Increase speed of product development activities, leveraging the resources of the Global Innovation Center (GIC), and becoming a change agent for standardized procedures, and cross-functional knowledge sharing and global transparency. Minimize R&D activities by standardizing work to maximize resource efficiency.
Manage efficiency of specific product development programs and transfer to factory teams. Update the team regularly with lessons learned for continuous improvement.
Lead risk management of all associated NA OEM programs to effectively identify design/ process issues in advance to allow predictable launch timing to meet OTD to SOP metrics.
Embrace Golf Pride PreLaunch and ProLaunch product development disciplines including stage gate reviews for all major milestones.
Support Global Engineering Standards for information management, Enovia based change management disciplines, and EPIC based product lifecycle management. Drive conformance to global standards including documentation standards, product design standards, drawing standards, tooling design standards, material recipe standards, process standards, and testing standards.
Utilize Global Material Standards with the objective of minimizing the quantity of raw materials and compound formulas while maximizing versatility in new product development.
Work within Profit Plan budget limits. Communicate excessive spending activities.
Provide technical support to the OEM customer base, building relationships with key external engineering personnel. The main objective is to provide a trusted point of contact between engineering departments to facilitate the expedited delivery of programs that meet specific customer requirements while working within current manufacturing capabilities.

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution (must be complete by June 2020)
Minimum of six (6) months’ experience working with CAD, tooling, Polymer Science, processes and documentation (intern and co-op experience applies)
Minimum of six (6) months’ experience working with international cultures, particularly APAC based product development and manufacturing
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in an R&D or product development environment
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working for a multi-national corporation with remote headquarters
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a matrix environment, get results and drive change through others.
Effective oral and written communication skills as well as planning and organizational skills.
Ability to manage by influence through solid relationships and process focus
Ability to effectively present results and recommendations to senior-level executive team.
