Cooper Lighting Solutions located in Peachtree City, GA is searching for an Operational Excellence Manager.


The Operational Excellence Program Manager is responsible for managing VAVE workshops, lean events, and cost improvement initiatives, which will result in reductions in manufacturing costs by providing training, expertise and direction for improvement activities.  Drive Lean activities and VAVE workshops with plant operations and work directly with the Division functional groups (Sustaining Engineering, product engineers, marketing Directors, and Strategic Sourcing managers) to reach cost out targets.

  • You will develop Lean Transformation Roadmaps

  • You will lead VSM (Value stream Mapping) Kaizen events

  • You will lead Kaizen events for manufacturing and transactional processes, and Lead Lean in the office

  • You will lead VAVE workshops with plants and suppliers

  • You will lead the implementation of 5S and Std. work in all areas of the business

  • You will manage the planning, facilitation and completion of manufacturing projects to support the cost reduction objectives of the company.

  • You will provide education to division employees on the principles and techniques of Lean/Six Sigma/VAVE.

Eaton has announced it has reached an agreement to sell its Lighting Business to Signify N.V.. This transaction is expected to be completed in the first Quarter of 2020 and this position is expected to remain with the Lighting Business and would transfer to Signify N.V. upon close.  The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton’s plans, programs and practices.  If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Lighting Business when the transaction closes, Signify N.V. will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

  • 5 years’ experience related to manufacturing and/or manufacturing engineering.

  • 5 years’ experience with process improvement and project management.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship

  • Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Peachtree City, GA to be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution

  • 5 years of experience with process improvement and project management

  • Experience as a manager of people in a manufacturing environment

  • Certified Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt

Position Criteria:
  • Excellent project management, analytical, problem solving and facilitation skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills to effectively lead and facilitate lean objectives and projects.

  • Demonstrated business acumen
  • Must be willing to travel extensively around 70% of the time
