Eaton’s Cooper Lighting Solutions is currently seeking a Municipal Sales Manager to join our team. This position will be remotely based in either Denver, Colorado, Los Angeles, CA, or Salt Lake City, Utah.

 For the West and Gulf Regions of the USA, this position is responsible for the attainment of Division and Corporate goals of growth, profitability and market development of Eaton’s Cooper Lighting Solutions sales initiatives (Ephesus sports lighting product sales) in the municipal sports lighting market. The Municipal Sales Manager also has oversight and sales responsibility for our agent integrator program for outdoor sports lighting. This is achieved through coordinating and directing the efforts of the company while providing superior service to our customers and agents.

In this function you will:
  • Develop a sales plan and regional forecast for the defined Region in the municipal sports lighting markets.

  • Collect, compile and analyze pertinent information in order to establish realistic goals for the market consistent with overall division goals of growth and profitability.

  • Demonstrate to customers the features and benefits of LED products and their superiority with regards to performance, costs savings, etc., as compared to traditionally sourced luminaires.

  • Establish, maintain and continually develop and foster successful and profitable business relationships with current and potential customers.

  • Build strong working relationships with municipalities, civil engineers, agent partners, ESCO’s and other key players and end-users within the municipal sports lighting market places to create awareness and promote focus on LED products, technologies, and designs.

  • Assure that appropriate technical guidance and assistance regarding product application is available to customer by building collaborative relationships between the customer and internal support functions.

  • Maintain oversight and sales responsibility for our agent integrator program for outdoor sports lighting.

  • Keep current with legislative standards and regulations relating to energy-efficient products, tax and rebate incentives, etc…

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of 5 years end user direct sales experience.

  • No relocation assistance offered for this position. Candidates must reside within a fifty mile radius of Denver, CO or Salt Lake City, UT. Active Duty Military Service candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Preferred qualifications:
  •  Sports lighting sales experience selling to end users

  •  Experience selling sports related products (fields, flooring, turf, LED video displays, ribbon boards, sports equipment, etc.)

  • Experience in the Insurance or Pharmaceutical industry

Position Criteria:
  • Knowledge and appreciation of sports.

  • Ability to travel 75% of time.

  • Understand and demonstrate ability to build and support MS Office applications such as Excel and PowerPoint to   assist in selling LED products, along with a solid understanding of Office 365

  • Well-developed communication, organizational, motivational and interpersonal skill

  • The candidate must have demonstrated and possess the ability to close.

Eaton has announced it has reached an agreement to sell its Lighting Business to Signify N.V. This transaction is expected to be completed in the first Quarter of 2020 and this position is expected to remain with the Lighting Business and would transfer to Signify N.V. upon close.  The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton’s plans, programs and practices.  If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Lighting Business when the transaction closes, you will be eligible to participate in Signify N.V.’s compensation, health, welfare, and retirement benefit plans and programs and should have no expectations that Signify N.V’s plans and programs will mirror or be substantially similar to Eaton’s.
