Eaton’s Electrical Sector is currently seeking a Product Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Mississauga, Ontario location. 

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Product Line Manager this position will create, support and implement market segment strategies to grow sales, profits and market share for the Enclosed Control and Enclosed Drives product line.

In this function you will:

  • Lead company resources and work closely with regional sales, distributors, satellite plants, and customers to achieve sales and growth objectives for Enclosed Control and Enclosed Drives

  • Provide and/or facilitate pre- and post- sale Technical Support for the associated product line

  • Identify and help team deliver major sales opportunities, initiatives, and new channels to market

  • Measure and report product forecast, share, market activities, voice of the customer, and competitive intelligence

  • Collaborate with the associated US product groups to align product roadmaps, new product introductions, and communicate Canadian requirements

  • Support the product line in quotations
  • Support and maintain Eaton Business Systems and Pricing Tools (Bid Manager)

  • Collaborate with other members of the product line team to drive new product development, PROLaunch projects, and Bid Manager integration

  • Assist Sales Engineers at GSF registered accounts via joint sales calls where necessary

  • Aid the Marketing group to create/implement strategic and profit plans for core and specific segments

  • Deliver technical product presentations and solutions as directed by Product Line Manager

  • Assist in the creation promotional materials and supporting documentation for the product line

  • Attend local tradeshows and industry association meetings as directed by Product Line Manager

  • Feedback to product line on customer needs and applications not currently provided

  • Be responsive to market conditions and competitor activities, while providing application engineering assistance and product solutions for Sales Force, Eaton Care, and customers nationally

  • Contribute to the marketing duties and projects in order to fulfill Product Line objectives as identified by the Product Line Manager

  • Collaborate with factory engineering and manufacturing staff to facilitate the production of high quality products in a timely manner

  • Engage in continuous improvement of product and technical application knowledge through on-going product training courses and enhance functional competency skills through personal development courses

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Electrical Engineering Degree or Technologist Diploma in Electronics/Industrial-Electrical Control
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the electrical industry
  • Proven and demonstrated Industrial Control expertise
  • Ability to work in Canada without company sponsorship
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.  Only candidates within a 80 KM radius of Mississauga will be considered. 
Preferred qualifications:
  • P.Eng or CET designation (or working towards) preferred

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office

  • Experience in using data analytics and Power BI
