Industrial Sales Engineer

Job Description

Eaton’s North American Sales division is currently seeking an Industrial Sales Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Louisville, KY location. Relocation assistance will be provided for candidates outside of a 50 mile radius to this location.

Position Overview:

The primary function is to secure orders and provide support for assigned accounts in the Louisville and Lexington assigned territory and surrounding areas with approximately a three-hour driving radius. Paramount to success of this role is the ability to call directly on the customers, develop relationships and be able to drive specification of Eaton products and services in their facilities for the control components, circuit breakers, switchgear products and control assemblies.  Familiarity with the following industries is preferred:  Pulp and Paper, Automotive, Mining and Metals, Chemicals, and Oil and Gas.

In this function you will:

  • Work with channel partners to support smaller projects at those facilities and ensuring that channel partners are able to support the customers’ MRO needs

  • Complete complex project take-off and bid preparation via Bid Manager

  • Review BOMs provided by CHAMPS organization, terms and conditions negotiation, pricing strategy and value engineering. Some of these projects will be new greenfield or expansion CapEx projects at end-users or EPCs (Engineering Procurement Construction) firms 

  • Be aware of and responsive to market conditions and competitive activities

  • Communicate such information to product divisions and maintain a cooperative and credible working relationship with other company personnel to assure customer satisfaction.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum two (2) years sales experience in the Industrial environment
  • Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
  • Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future


Preferred qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Control and Drives products, LV and MV Switchgear

  • Previous experience with Service Sales
