  • This role is established for eMobility business of Eaton in Center for Reliability Maintainability & Safety team. 
  • Responsible for independently delivering safety work package(Design for Safety) for eMobility system solution (e.g. inverters. power distribution unit) for electrical /Eletronics and hybrid solutions for on- and off-road vehicles related new products introduction (NPI) programs without impacting project schedules. Typical deliverables are: program safety plan, hazard assessment(HARA), safety requirements, and implementation of requirements, verification & validation.
  • Deploy safety assessment framework in eMobility group with the global team. Responsible to pursue & leverage Safety sign-off process on business flagship deck projects.
  • Maintain a watch on: external safety standards & incidences.
  • Additional responsibilities of this position: Support the software certification, reliability engineer on program for issue resolution
  • Incumbent will be responsible to establish and manage a world class environment through deployment of Eaton’s MESH practices inline to organization’s vision for safe working environment. This position is also expected to ensure compliance with external bodies for applicable regulations and guidelines.

Qualifications


Requirement: 

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
  • Preferred: Masters in Electrical/Power Electronics engineering/safety/ reliability engineering and/or certification from reputed safety organizations like TUV

  • Required: Bachelor’s with 5+ relevant experience or Masters with 2+ years working in functional safety.

  • Understanding of safety standards like IEC 61508, ISO 26262

  • Vehicle domain knowledge, work experience in the area of eMobility / vehicle electrification.

  • Awareness of DFSS etc."

  • Experience with any industry proven safety analysis suite of tools
