Quality Technician - Quality Management System

Eaton’s Industrial sector is currently seeking a Quality Technician to join our team. This position is based at our Torrance, CA location.

Position Overview:

The Quality Technician’s primary function is to manage portions of the EQMS (Eaton Quality Management System) and QLI (Quality Leading Indicators) as part of Torrance's drive for best practices at the site. Best practices would be around process discipline, identifying risks and opportunities, taking necessary actions, quickly addressing issues, and achieving desired levels of efficiency and effectiveness. Other duties include performing PO reviews, AS9102 first articles, Internal audits and Corrective action along with other duties.

In this function you will:
  • Support the Aerospace Quality Best Practice implementation and ongoing programs at the Torrance site

  • Manage the LPA (Layered Process Audit) program at the Torrance site

  • Monitor quality related performances according to agreed standards and take necessary action to communicate/advise/assist according to performance levels by making recommendations to the site quality council

  • Support with internal audits and corrective action closures from AS9100 audits

  • Assist in analyzing customer returns for root cause and implementing corrective actions

  • Inspect products and processes to ensure conformance with quality standards and specifications

  • Perform customer specific and AS9102 first article inspections

  • Perform reviews of customer purchase orders, quality notes, and PO amendments

  • Participate in Material Review Board activities to control nonconforming material, direct containment activities, provide timely material dispositions and implement effective root cause corrective actions.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution

  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing or quality experience with a working knowledge of blueprint reading

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience using computers and Microsoft Office tools to conduct work

  • This role will require 10% travel

  • No relocation is being offered for this position.  Only candidates that currently reside with the immediate geographical area of Torrance, CA (50 miles) will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future

  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms regulations (ITAR).
