Senior Technician (2nd shift)

Eaton’s Hydraulics Group is currently seeking a Senior Technician (2nd shift) to join our team. This position is based at our Maumee, OH facility. 


Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of a Senior Technician is to follow standard processes that are routinely conducted on a day-to-day basis. Senior Technicians are expected to plan proper execution of the assigned job, to follow procedures according to department, division, and Eaton policy, and provide timely preparation of information and documents. The Senior Technician is expected to have a complete understanding of all Eaton Fluid Conveyance Products. In addition, the Senior Technician must display analytical and problem solving capabilities. The Senior Technician is expected to take ownership of projects, lead small project teams, and continuously improve their skill set. The Senior Technician is proficient in complex processes and procedures.

In this function you will:

  • Demonstrates skill, accuracy and knowledge in hydraulic test methods for fluid conveyance products
  • Produces a consistent flow of high quality work and develops a body of information used to improve efficiency.
  • Understands the fundamentals and reasoning of problem solving and demonstrates tangible evidence of critical problem solving.
  • Leads projects and develops methodologies for standardization of department processes.
  • Participates on project and/or improvement teams.
  • Demonstrates effective communication with peers and management.
  • Leads by example through actions and behaviors (acts as an ambassador of Eaton, takes opportunities to build up the department and Eaton as a whole).
  • Pursues continuous learning and improvement (training). Takes and applies advanced or specialized training.
  • Interprets and follows written and verbal instructions from engineers, written engineering specifications and Industry standards for testing
  • Collect performance data during the test process and compile that information in an Engineering Test Report that is submitted to the requesting customer to review and draw conclusions.
  • Perform needed repairs and adjustments to test apparatus to assure maximum test run time and minimum down time
  • Compliance with established health, safety and environmental practices to insure a safe work place

Required (Basic) Qualifications

  • High School Diploma with experience or technical certification program is required
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this role.  All candidates considered must live within 50 miles of Maumee, OH. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of related experience preferred.
  • Associates of Science degree (or equivalent) preferred from an accredited university.
  • Specialized training or apprenticeship in related field preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Working knowledge of fluid power concepts
  • Ability to read and interpret precision measuring instruments
