The primary function of Associate Marketing Manager will be to support the development of product line strategies for assigned product line portfolio working with the Senior Marketing Manager for all activities associated with those product lines.  The measure of success is implementation of the plan and growth in revenue and profitability over planned period. Working with cross functional teams to develop new products in line with product technology roadmaps to achieve cost targets, revenue and profitability expectations. Responsible to drive demand creation in conjunction with the commercial teams globally. Supports new product introductions into the market place. Assess competitive position of the product offerings and directs investment to achieve best in class cost and feature position for product lines under management. Provides market, competitive and customer intelligence to the marketing teams in support of long-term strategy and tactical plans. 

  

 This exciting role offers opportunity to:

 

  • Support of assigned product line portfolio, including evaluation of product line extension or modification requests from sales team, or external customers. Utilize a formalized process that gives quantifiable reasons to implement or reject the extensions or other changes to the portfolio.  Preparation of a business proposal for acceptable projects that includes product specification, target cost, average sell price and payback model.

  • Assess competitive position of the product offerings through competitive benchmarking of features, market pricing and channel to market.

  • Develop marketing collateral and content in support of commercialization through retail, electrical distribution and e-commerce channels.

  • Participation as a key member of a product development team through the concept, development, implementation and market introduction for the product or product line. Responsibility for product literature content that includes features, benefits and performance data. This includes printed and electronic formats.  Monitor these areas as part of product life cycle management.

  • Responsibility for sustaining core product lines to adapt to market change or to penetrate new markets and address competitive offerings.  This includes recommending programs and promotional activities to strengthen market position for sustained product lines.

  • The Product Marketing Manager must work closely with Senior Manager to balance competing business needs.

  • Support product plan and technology roadmap on key products.  Coordinate product planning inputs for strategic and business planning.

  • Develop training materials for new and existing customers, distributors, etc., relating to products.  Develop presentation material in support of promotions, new product introductions, as well as existing product line training

  • Responsibility for coordinating price and margin objectives with the product-pricing group, based on competitive analysis, market price sensitivity analysis, etc.

  • Also responsible for performing analyses as required such as SKU update ownership, Inventory analysis and leadership, and Complexity Management programs. 

 



Qualifications

  • Graduate in Engineering (Electrical/ Electronics/ Mechanical/ IT) and MBA/PGDBM (Preferred)

  • 5-7 years of experience in electrical or electronics organization (Lighting/ Automation/ Switchgear preferred)

  • Sales or Business development exposure preferred

  • Facilitation and training experience

  • New product commercialization experience

  • Participation in Strategic Product Planning and Product Road mapping

  • Comprehensive knowledge of technical systems and products

  • Well-developed communication and organizational skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software products including, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access
