Eaton’s Aerospace Fuel Motion Control Systems Division is currently seeking a Contracts Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Los Angeles, California facility.


The Contracts Manager is responsible for leading and participating in negotiations for the Aerospace Group Level, and/or FMC Division Level contracts as directed by management.  In this role, you will successfully protect the business from claims, execute price increase entitlement, and limit any potential damages by foreseeing issues and raising awareness before they occur.  For new contracts it is expected that you will negotiate favorable business terms and maintain strong customer relationships.  You will be required to manage difficult situations with customers, and maintain a balanced approach to ensure we maintain our customer focused approach to doing business.  In addition, you will also be responsible for ensuring that all negotiations are conducted in accordance with Eaton’s ethics and values.

In this function you will:
  • Perform contracts function as directed by Contracts & Pricing Manager.

  • Facilitate internal review of Agreements, and adopts process improvements within the contracts organization, understands procedures to manage the risks and liabilities of the plant, participate in the bid process.

  • Lead the negotiations for new contracts and contract change proposals, which can include multi-site negotiations for all of Aerospace and/or FMC division, as directed by management.

  • Manage the commercial execution of contracts, and ensures our business receives its full entitlement to pricing and other commercial benefits.  This includes protecting the business from, customer claims such that all claims on the business are fully mitigated to the best degree possible.

  • Interact and leads discussions with our Corporate legal function, when needed, in the event that customer contractual issues escalate into potential legal issues.  Ensures compliance with all UCC, Federal Acquisition Regulations and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations.

  • Participate in governance reviews (Tender Vet/ Gate 0/1,) customer proposals for new business, including pricing, statement of work (SOW) verification, Specification verification, terms and conditions negotiations, quality requirements and supply chain requirements.  Supports review of program status as part of the Leadership governance review of programs.

  • Maintain custody of all contractual documents to protect the company legally and maintain ISO9000 and AS9100 and FAR and DFAR requirements.

  • Lead contract Change Management process to maximize opportunity for Eaton.

  • Manage the contract life cycle management process (CLM), leads the claims and assertions process cycle and ensures this is managed and recorded in theCLM system.

  • Maintain positive customer interactions, proactively insuring contractual compliance and performance.

  • Support Program Management in the execution and management of major contracts.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited institution.

  • 5 years’ of contract management experience.

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without out company sponsorship, now or in the future.

  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

  • No relocation is being offered for this role.  All candidates considered must live within 50 miles of the Los Angeles, CA facility.  Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, law or engineering.

  • 10 years of experience in contract management.

  • Experience in aerospace engineering or defense sector.

  • Government contract experience.

  • Understand government regulatory requirements.

  • Basic level of business law.
