This exciting role offers opportunity to:




  • Lead the Should Cost CoE with end to end responsibility from identifying maximum opportunities till extending all support to the Category Managers in conversion of these into the realized savings

  • Ensure regular governance with the stakeholders to identify the gap and provide support to ensure that the opportunities identified are realized into savings

  • Lead & manage a team of Should Cost Engineers to meet all cost reduction goals related to SCM SSC including the Global SCM Projects

  • Shall be responsible for USD 100+ Millions of cost out using the Should cost tool and also shall be responsible for ideating many VAVE ideas and getting cost out on the same too

  • Shall have knowledge to guide on Make / Buy decisions

  • Shall be strong in Data handling to get meaning full decision made out of numbers

  • Manage the program/project, provide technical guidance and mentoring to the team members as necessary.

  • Responsible for leading definition process of should-cost projects by organizing cross-functional meetings along with the Program Manager to have all the opportunities identified into realized savings till implementation

  • Have close coordination with technology, manufacturing, sourcing, product management and suppliers

  • Establish & maintain a strong knowledge management database which can be leveraged for Sourcing decisions.

  • Ensure projects meet their financial & operational goals (KPIs) viz cost out, cost avoidance, productivity gain and on time & accurate deliveries.

  • Anticipate well in advance the capacity and growth related initiatives and upgrade all resources accordingly

  • Establish robust capability monitoring mechanism for all the critical process and product parameters.

  • Communicates with the Supply Chain teams globally regarding opportunities in alignment with commodity/category strategies

  • Lead governance meetings with internal/external stakeholders to ensure compliance to SLAs & enhance customer satisfaction

  • Participate in risks assessment and risk management along with the project teams comprising global SCM leaders and commodity managers

  • Partner with Engineering for should cost analysis on NPI & VAVE Projects

  • Also, lead various initiatives in initiating VAVE ideas by the team to be submitted till approval and implementation

  • Encourage employee involvement in continuous improvement & Productivity improvement initiatives.











  • Bachelors in Engineering with 12-15 years of experience OR Masters with 10-12 years of experience in Should Costing

  • 5-6 years’ experience of handling should cost team of at least 10-15 members

  • Should have hands on experience in creating a robust knowledge management database for should cost

  • Knowledge of product cost structure & manufacturing production process (Plastic Injection Molding ,Sheet Metal ,Tooling ,Castings ,Forgings, Electrical & Electronic Components)

  • Should have worked in analyzing Total Cost of Ownership of products.

  • Good understanding of project/program management with rigorous KPI / Metrics based monitoring & control

  • Good exposure in Cost Estimation, Negotiations and TCO is important.

  • Working knowledge on part development tools & methodologies

  • Working knowledge of Change Management, Six Sigma

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute project plans while delivering financial goals

  • Strong organization and data analytical competencies

  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to influence and drive change / results 

  • Demonstrated high level of motivation and resourcefulness 

  • Awareness of costing tools like aPriori, Costimator, DFMA, SEER

  • Working knowledge of MS office suite Word, Excel, Power Point

  • Good Knowledge on Sharepoints, Data handling and number oriented decision making

  • Working knowledge of Pro/Engineer CAD Software
