This position purchases assigned items such as specific commodities, machinery, precision tools and test equipment, ensuring the meeting of quality, delivery, and specification requirements at the lowest possible cost.
You will source new suppliers, negotiate prices and terms and conditions, you will be required to asses supplier performance, request corrective actions when required, and expedite material orders to ensure timely and economical completion of customer requirements.
Your key deliverables:
Balances current and future demand requirements with supplier capabilities/capacities to ensure completion of customer requirements
Prepares competitive bidding documentation and evaluates supplier quotations to select sources of supply utilizing commercially available sources to verify financial stability
Negotiates contractual terms regarding quantity, price, delivery, quality, freight routings, and other standard or special contract terms
Evaluates current and potential sources of supply to identify and prioritize areas requiring new sources of supply or performance improvement
Expedites supplier material, where required, to meet shortfall between current plan and customer order requirements
Coordinates with Accounts Payable on billing and/or credit issues
Arranges for or assists in the disposal of surplus material
Coordinates the return, rework, or exchange of defective materials
Supports cost reduction projects and improvement initiatives to achieve overall business objectives
Analyzes data, including enterprise requirements planning information and prepares reports as needed to facilitate and recommend actions to ensure optimal delivery of supplier materials
At least 5 years’ experience in operational procurement; supplier management.
Ideally MCIPs or degree qualified.
Strong team player
Be able to manage cross functional stakeholders, build clear development plans with suppliers and identify and implement process
Experience in improvement initiatives.
