This position has primary functions:

  • The position reports into the Director of Finance SEA and ANZ and involves reviewing and consolidating designated financial aspects of the Eaton Group of Companies in South East Asia (SEA).  Assist in the interpretation of budgets, plans, and results across South East Asia operating division. 

  • The Country Controller will prepare the consolidated statutory financial statements accounts for the legal entities, in South East Asia. The position assists in the preparation of the tax returns and supports and coordinates the completion of audits both statutory and tax.  This position will have direct financial reporting and fiscal responsibility for the Singapore holding company ledger and other corporate ledgers in South East Asia(Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam)

  • Develop forward-looking insights to drive management decisions, actions and improve operational and corporate results

  • This role involves working with the South East Asia operating business entities provide technical competency to ensure compliance with corporate financial policies, local legal requirement and US GAAP reporting

  • Special projects assignment such as financing arrangements, restructurings, and acquisition/divestiture coordination and integration.

  • Guides the application of corporate policies, procedures, GAAP, IFRS, organization changes, and ensures their distribution to SEA finance staff so that such knowledge is applied to the financial process.

  • Provides financial leadership and oversight to all corporate functions and operations in SEA region on matters of accounting, internal controls, auditing, tax and treasury

  • Monitors and ensures that local accounting, fiscal regulations and other requirements are complied with, and corporate guidance materials adhered to in all reports and information prepared by SEA financial personnel; ensures that ethical standards are maintained in a manner that accrues maximum benefit to Eaton across all SEA operations.

  • Provides guidance and direction in the provision of advice and technical assistance to the SEA operations on technical accounting issues, fiscal matters, and intercompany recharging of costs, in accordance with fiscally acceptable criteria and corporate objectives.

  • Acts as a resource for local and divisional management for interpretation on current accounting, administrative systems policies and procedures and corporate guidance materials.  Understands international business practices, technical and business development practices to aid review and analysis of current and proposed financial or administrative policies.  Recommends policy and procedural improvements and implements policy and procedural improvement in conjunction with local and corporate management as appropriate.

  • Assists with the preparation of all SEA tax and fiscal filings, ensures accuracy and timeliness of filing.  Works with locations, tax agents and external auditors to ensure appropriate interpretation of regulations and compliance.  Reviews audit results and initiates and direct corrective actions to remedy deficiencies.


  • Accounting Degree or international equivalent

  • 5~7 years of financial management experience with consolidation of  statutory accounts expertise

  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, and local Singapore, and Malaysia accounting and tax practices

  • Conversant in all finance disciplines including accounting, treasury, tax matters

  • Experience in manufacturing industry

  • Experience in transaction processing within Finance or Accounting

  • Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to relate prior experience and knowledge of controls across company operations

  • Adaptable to varying cultures

  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with the ability to summarize findings and present solutions

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills – ability to work with all levels of the organization

  • Strong leadership skills - ability to work independently as well as with team members to drive projects to conclusion

  • Working knowledge of Eaton’s financial systems (Oracle, Hyperion, Radar and Encore)

  • Experienced working within a Shared Service Center model

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to adapt well to changes and manage several projects or responsibilities at the same time

  • Must be able to communicate and work effectively with a variety of levels within the organization

  • Strong analytical skills Strong PC and technical skills – Excel and Power Point

  • Excellent communication proficiency both on a written and verbal level. Works well in a team environment
