Eaton's Fluid & Electrical Distribution Division is currently seeking a Quality Technician to join our team. This position is based at our Beltsville, MD facility. 

Position Overview:  
This position will be supporting the welding Engineer. This includes conducting Welding audits, Provide information and training to the floor. Help construct Welding Procedures, Testing welders for certification. Supporting NADCAP and customers audits. Support Manufacturing group with distribution of rework items. Support.

 In this function you will: 
  • Create and approve welding procedures to guide production and welding personnel relating to specification restrictions, material processes, involve use of complex alloys, welding of critical joints.

  • Conduct welding training (Resistance seam welding, Laser welding, auto tig, and manual tig). This includes training in a classroom setting and hands on training. Testing welding personnel for certification. Testing welding personnel for production.

  • Help develop new procedure qualifications for new products, materials, and material combinations. Maintain and develop Procedure qualifications (new products, materials, material combinations). Maintain and create weld process specification WPS and process qualification report

  • Conduct Welder audits. Conduct welding process improvement. Support customer and NADCAP audits

  • Support R+D initiatives around new material investigation. Perform experimental welding to evaluate new equipment, techniques, and materials sketches.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of five (5) years of GTAW process
  • Minimum of two (2) years using GD&T Experience
  • Must have a CWI Certification
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and within the future.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.  Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Beltsville, MD will be considered.  Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience with new product development.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in GTAW welding or Resistance Seam Welding

  • Minimum 10 years of experience NDT process.

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience working with nickel based alloys, stainless and titanium.

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the Aerospace, Nuclear and/or Pharmaceutical Industry.

  • Knowledge of MIL, ASM, ASTM, AWS Standards, & NADCAP with aircraft engine manufacturer specification knowledge

  • Experience with structured problem solving, Continuous Improvement, and/or Lean Manufacturing 

Position Success Criteria:
  • Experience with thin wall metal manufacturing.

  • Ability to use Word and Excel

  • Ability to speak in front of group

  • Experience working with complex alloys
