Eaton’s Fluid Conveyance Division of Eaton’s Hydraulics Group is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Forest City, NC facility. Relocation assistance is provided for this position for candidate outside of the facilities 50 mile radius.  

Position Overview:

The Manufacturing Engineer designs, develops, and implements products and manufacturing processes to facilitate cost reduction and continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity, and cycle time. This position works closely with others on concerns related to one or more work cells.  Accountable for all engineering-related concerns in the assigned work cell(s) and provides support to other work cells and projects as needed.

In this function you will:
  • Establish, maintain, and periodically audit:

    • Product Standards and Specifications
    • Bills of Material and Process Routers

    • Hazard identification
    • Process FMEA’s
  • Establish, analyze, and achieve targets for projects related to:

    • Customer Product design
    • Problem-solving activities
    • Process improvement
    • Cost reduction
  • Serve as owner of the following for his/her assigned work cell(s)

    • Product prototypes, samples, and cost estimates

    • Introduction of new or revised product and process

    • Process development and capital projects

    • Work cell value-stream map(s) and Process FMEA(‘s)

    • Physical Asset Inventories
  • Serve as a member, support, and/or lead of various teams/functions:

    • Supplier and/or Material Evaluations
    • Continuous Improvement events
    • Customer Product Development
    • Safety& Quality Improvement
    • Problem solving

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering, or related Engineering Degree from an accredited institution.  

  • Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience a manufacturing environment.

  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future

Preferred qualifications: 

  • Knowledge and application of Lean Manufacturing tools and concepts.

  • Experience with project management and problem solving

  • Proficiency in computer/software including Microsoft Office applications, AutoCAD, MFGPro, and/or ERP System knowledge.

  • Proven demonstration of excellent written and oral communications skills.
