Custom Assembler 1st Shift

Job Description

Eaton’s Power Reliability Division is  currently seeking a Custom Assembler to join our Padmount team on 1st shift. This position is based at our South Milwaukee, WI facility.

The Custom Assembler is responsible for performing a variety of diversified sub and final assembly operations on our overhead switchgear product line which contain a large number of parts and substantial fitting and aligning of components.

  • You will perform a variety of diversified sub and final assembly operations on our overhead switchgear product line which contain a large number of parts and substantial fitting and aligning of components.

  • You will set-up, build, test & pallatize overhead Switchgear Units

  • You will screen defective parts or make adjustments as necessary.

  • You will work independently, be a self-starter and pay close attention to detail.

  • You will interact with other departments as needed for advice and decisions.

  • You will perform work from specifications, and/or communicated instructions.

  • You are responsible for your own work, under minimal supervision and instructions.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area (50 miles) of the work location will be considered.

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of one year of manufacturing experience.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 -2 years’ experience in complex electrical and mechanical assembly

 

Position Success Criteria :

  • Conduct Hi-Pot & TCC Test
  • Follow Standard Work
  • Use and Operate necessary or required equipment, products, and assembly procedures
  • Ability to read and use drawings, routings, blue prints, specifications, part numbers, and other shop documents affecting this position.
  • Must be able to walk/stand for an 8 hours shift with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Must be able to lift 48lbs and push/pull 48 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
