Eaton’s Fluid & Electrical Distribution division, a part of our Aerospace sector, is currently seeking an MRO Project & Transition Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Beltsville, MD facility. Relocation assistance within the United States and Puerto Rico will be provided.
The MRO Project Manager will lead the successful execution of repair development programs across the activities for which the operation is responsible.
This position will manage any product transition activity associated with moving repair/aftermarket production from other Eaton sites to the Beltsville repair station, taking into account considerations such as capability, make/buy decisions, product & material flow, customer/contract impacts and strategic considerations based on the market.
Additionally, the position will collect and analyze data on all of the factors that can affect turnaround time and costs, such as materials and labor and use this data to both prepare detail cost and TAT estimates to support proposal activity, as well as MRO improvement activities.
This position is the primary interface point for Beltsville MRO operations with customers and partners. The role will combine the standard activities associated with Program Management, Pricing and Transitions normally performed by several individuals for the OEM business into a single role for the MRO business.

Create accurate costing models for quoting repair projects. This includes working with Engineering, Supply Management and Production teams to ensure bill of materials, routers and repair schemes are accurately set up.
Analyze gross margin reports for proper and timely actions to identify cost problems and profit margins analysis
Interface with existing and potential customers from an operational perspective by close coordination with other functions to fully represent Beltsville capabilities and understand requirements and maximize growth opportunities.
Provide input and guidance to the Value Stream and Business manager and project team in areas of customer concerns, potential changes in scope and risk assessment. Evaluates changes in scope for cost impact.
Assist in the development of labor and overhead rates that supports the pricing team activity for new business.
Manage customer relationships and maintain customer satisfaction while assuring scope is managed appropriately and contract changes are secured where appropriate.
Suggest improvements in production methods, standards, and procedures to insure effective use of resources and estimate the costs and times associated with the development of a new DER repair
Organize data to present recommended repair strategies; presenting the pros and cons of repair strategy scenarios
Provide monthly project updates to VSM and Business Manager on major project milestones

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Operations, Manufacturing, Maintenance Repair Overhaul (MRO), FAA Part 145 Repair Station and/or Project Management
Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Prior aerospace and/or aftermarket experience
- Knowledge of MRO market needs and practices
Familiarity with industry TAT (Turnaround Time) requirements and drivers
Basic familiarity with FAA regulations for a Part 145 repair
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a matrix environment, get results and drive change through others.
Effective oral and written communication skills as well as planning and organizational skills.
Ability to manage by influence through solid relationships and process focus
Ability to effectively present results and recommendations to senior-level executive team.
