For our EMEA Services organization we are looking for a:
Electrical Engineer – EMEA Services Organization - location Hengelo
Our Hengelo site employs around 650 people. Our product portfolio covers for our Service organisation a wide range of low & medium voltage systems produced in the past 50 years of our company.
As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for all aftermarket design activities pertaining to Low Voltage / Medium Voltage switchgear assemblies, creating high quality aftermarket kits, and custom designed solutions at a minimum cost while meeting and exceeding customer requirements, in accordance with all applicable codes and standards. You will work within the Engineering Team and will report to the Manager Engineering, Consulting Services & Aftermarket Production of the Service organization in Hengelo.
Our Aftermarket Engineering department is part of the Services EMEA business and consists of Application Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Work Preparation.
Electrical Engineering provides engineering details for system control and – protection system for installed Low Voltage and Medium Voltage switchgear based on customer specifications and a conceptual design.
The Electrical Services team offers a comprehensive portfolio of services tailored for every stage of a power system’s life cycle—whether it’s design, build, or support. Our services integrate and optimize the elements of a power system to make sure it’s aligned with business goals.
Your main duties:
Draws electrical schematics for LVS or MVS switchgear extensions and modifications based on guidance from application engineering, product knowledge, customer specifications, necessary safety precautions, EHS guidelines, design guidelines, international and Eaton standards as part of the engineer to order process.
Prepares the purchase of electrical components, takes care of a complete and accurate list.
Creation of wiring diagrams to be used in production for the assembly of the switchgear and connection of wires, based on the schematics, components list, mechanical construction and positioning of components.
Archiving aftermarket order data in the drawing program and the processing of as-built drawings
Providing technical support to sales, work preparation, production, inspection, service. Advising on and solving technical solutions and issues.
Responsible for the assigned projects, accountable for performing work within budgeted cost estimates, committed lead times and assigned utilization levels.
Self-management of assigned projects. Thorough collection of technical information, analysis and coordination in all phases of a project. Engineering in accordance with standards, agreements, and customer requirements, and a smooth and systematic progress of the engineering process.
Collaboration and pro-active communication to all stakeholders in the aftermarket engineering team, and other cross functional teams (Service order management, Planning, Aftermarket Operations, Field Services).
Participating in standardization or update of the Aftermarket product range.
Maintaining and expanding Engineering Guidelines, and define and implement process improvements that improve the efficiency of the Aftermarket Engineering team by implementing and refining design tools that reduce design cycle time and errors.
Investigating technological developments and working methods with regard to Electrical Engineering, advise about possible improvements and, after approval of management, implement these;
Taking care of the accompanying documentation package (internal and external)
Timely information transfer and accurate archiving of the files.
Moreover the engineer contributes and implements improvements that improve the effectivity of the Aftermarket Engineering team.
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
Understands the switchgear Design and Manufacturing processes.
Specific knowledge of making various technical calculations at the level of a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering.
Self-starter, drives improvement, in coordination with the manager.
Quick learner, able to adopt new systems and tools quickly and ambition to further develop him/herself e.g. into an Application Engineering role as a next step in his/her career.
Solid organizational skills and the ability to multi-task are paramount.
Excellent communications skills and must have the ability to interface with internal and external customers, sales, and other team members on a technical level in multiple languages.
English (v/w) and Dutch (v) language.
Preferred experience with ELCAD, Engineering Base, Eplan or other schematic tooling applications.
