Job Description

Eaton’s Power Systems division is currently seeking a Lead Technician to join our team. This position is based at our Franksville, WI facility.


Position Overview:

The Lead Technician is responsible for routine and non-routine testing of materials and prototype, contributing to produce test data and standardized reporting for PSD products that meet established quality standards. In this role, you will prepare/modify tests using standard and non-standard equipment with guided work protocols. The lead technician will utilize the knowledge of applicable procedures, terminology, and attention to detail to process test requests; along with compiling and evaluating data to determine the level of quality and the maintenance of product reliability. Additionally, this position supports New Product Development and Engineering work associated with product re-design and enhancements.

In this function, you will:
  • Perform standard and non-standard (using Non-Standard Work protocols) testing sequences from setup to completion with guidance.

  • Generate, compile, and summarize all data, observations and conclusions for all evaluations and report out in standardized report format.

  • Perform necessary evaluations to verify accuracy, repeatability and reproducibility of the data.

  • Champion Eaton MESH Safety program for relevant disciplines. Assist in the development and enforcement of safety regulations.

  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration on laboratory instrumentation and maintains all documentation.

  • Prepare/modify test protocols using standard and non-standard lab equipment, including design and construction of test fixtures with supervision.

  • Manage lab equipment inventory, as well as test samples.

  • Develop test programs and processes to improve the efficiency of routine testing. Develops standard work documentation of new methods.

  • Troubleshoots minor instrumentation problems

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of two (2) years of engineering or lab experience
  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Only candidates currently located within a 50 mile radius of Franksville, WI, will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship. 
Preferred Qualifications:

Position Success Criteria :
  • Minimal travel as needed to support off-site testing and development
  • Excellent oral, interpersonal and written skills with the ability to effectively communicate
  • Ability to utilize the computer to analyze and solve routine problems
