Eaton’s Critical Power Solutions Division is currently seeking a Product Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Moon Township, PA facility. Relocation assistance will be provided.
The Product Manager will work closely with Power Factor Correction (PFC) and Surge Protection (SPD) product lines / business. This role is part of the Critical Power Solutions (CPS) business within the Power Quality Americas division of Eaton’s Electrical Sector.
Key activities will include working with sales teams to deliver orders, revenue (sales), and price / margin goals for the SPD and PFC product lines per annual profit plans, launching new products, developing sales tools and collateral, driving and executing growth programs, managing / updating portfolio roadmaps, incorporating VOC into the product lines, forecasting sales and production, and various product mgmt. activities. The Senior Product Manager will work closely with sales, marketing communications, business development, operations and channel partners to communicate and promote Eaton’s products, technologies and services. He/she will be an expert in the full line of Eaton marketing and sales tools including Mentor, PowerBI, Business Warehouse, Bid Manager, SAP, Order Center, QlikView, VISTA, Excel, PowerPoint, Literature Fulfillment, WebEx, eNewsletter Builder, etc.
The Product Manager is also responsible for coordinating Eaton’s overall strategy for profitable growth of Eaton’s Surge Protection and Power Factor Correction product lines. Included in the strategy will be to drive the product channel strategy to optimize share growth in North America for the surge business. The goal is profitable growth across all Eaton channels, and the strategy must address all of the current channels including traditional Eaton distributors, OEM accounts, legacy Cooper distributors, Innovative Technology Master Distributors, Eaton GSF and PQ Hybrid Representatives.
This position is also responsible for managing the Technical Resource Center (TRC) in Pittsburgh. The TRC is comprised of four application engineers that provide both pre- and post-sales support of the Surge Protection, Power Factor Correction and Power Conditioning product lines. The TRC provides phone and email support to Eaton sales, Eaton Representatives, contractors and end users in the selection and use of these power quality solutions.

Create and implement programs, processes and support functions for the marketing of these products through sales representatives, distribution, Eaton Sales team, and OEMs. This includes managing marketing collateral and catalog upkeep.
Work with the PQ sales managers to conduct win and loss analysis to understand key decision criteria and opportunities for improvement.
Lead product line implementation of Bid Manager, PDH, SAP and Order Center.
Interface with the Eaton sales, Eaton operations, independent sales representatives, distributors and customers to promote sales growth.
Gather and analyze market data from various internal and external sources. Review and provide commentary/action based on the results.
Support all EBS elements (EBEA, ELSS, EQS, MESH, PRO-Launch).
Maintain status on competitive products, as well as other threats to the product line’s success.
Lead the development of supporting marketing collateral including presentations, application guides, product aids, technical data, new product launch material, electronic sales tools and catalogs.
Develop, maintain and communicate pricing strategies and guidelines across all of the Eaton channels.
Work with sales group to analyze sales by channel and products to develop targeted opportunities.
Develop marketing plans to exploit competitors’ channel or product weaknesses to meet growth objectives.
Perform sales and product training duties, as well as support trade shows and events.
Work with commercial group to develop programs to enable the Eaton sales teams and partners to exceed revenue goals.
Measure and report, market activities, voice of customer and competitive intelligence.
Manage the TRC and marketing resources to maintain a consistently high level of customer service and achieve team / business goals.
Work with PLM, develop and execute annual business plans and strategic plans.
Work with PLM, develop / execute monthly sales forecasts, and participate in periodic operating / business reviews.
Be responsible for engineering functional objectives and initiatives in support of our strategic plan.
Confront and solve performance/operational issues to improve engineering efficiency.
Have responsibility for expense management and capital planning.

A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, marketing or business is required from an accredited educational institution.
Minimum 5 years of sales or marketing experience in an industrial power related product line
Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future
Experience with power distribution systems and services desirable.
7-10 years of Product Marketing experience in the electrical, electronic or information technology hardware industry
7-10 years of overall business experience
Possess excellent interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communication skills with expertise in preparing and delivering dynamic presentations for customer and internal meetings
Ability to multitask, complete projects with tight deadlines and proven product management experience. Good balance of marketing and technical acumen
Must be able to manage limited resources to reach assigned targets
Ability to manage a diverse team, set annual goals and deliver results.
Must be experienced in competitive benchmarking of features and price, new product requirement definition, business plan development, value proposition development, new product launch, forecasting
Ability to work in a matrix organization, in virtual teams (across different locations), and cross-cultural environments
Ability to learn, articulate, and support complex products and technologies
Ability to think and act strategically, and to develop, manage and execute strategic plans
Ability to develop / execute annual business plans, go to market / channel strategies
