PLS Manager

Job Description

Eaton’s Power Components Division is currently seeking a PLS Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Las Piedras facility.

To support factory operations in support of producing high quality product act as primary product liaison to marketing. Work as a liaison on new product development with teams in the various design centers including India.


1-Develops, evaluates, and improves product.

2-Directs engineering Team to resolve product, process , documentation issues.

3-Assures all product cost structures are accurate and that the Mapics system is accurately controlled.

4- Acts as a liaison in handling UL non-conformances and identify root cause and implement fabrication corrections.

5-Identifies,  initiates and manage cost out projects for the product and manages the team to assure a rolling deck of projects.

6-Evaluates materials, processes and as needed initiates Engineering change notices.                                                                                       

7-Understands metals, plastics and fabrication processes to make wise choices in part manufacture.

8-Supports manufacturing, materials and accounting functions as needed.

9-Identifies new sources for components and makes wise analysis of material alternatives. 

10-Works actively with suppliers on existing materials and resolves supplier difficulties on part conformance.

11-Evaluates lab test data and completes DFMA in order to improve product performance.

12-Evaluates product failures determine root causes and defines proactive corrective actions to turn around product line stops.

13-Tasks are of a nonroutine nature and include product and modification, experimentation and analysis, documentation, specification, test criteria, etc., chiefly for existing products or processes.

14-Actively participates in Stage Gate engineering process to assure proper industrialization for new product launches, including Participation in Cross-functional team meetings for new product launches.

15-Works with manufacturing functions to assure part manufacture leads to proper product performance.

16-Analyze parts deviations and make proper disposition. Supports manufacturing to ensure efficient production methods.

17-Identifies suitable materials for use in product and assure manufacturing’s capability to run such material.

18-Determine product specifications and evaluates tooling and equipment according to specifications and quality standards.

19-Supports new product launches as liaison to manufacturing facility.                                                                                      

20- Support training for future growth to  PLS  Manager PR / DR.



Required (Basic) Qualifications:

Minimum Education:  Mechanical, Electrical or Design Engineering Bachelor’s Degree

Minimum Experience:  Minimum of five years of experience working in Manufacturing environment.

Preferred (Basic) Qualifications:

Previous experience on product support design preferable. Knowledge of circuit breakers. Preferred Training: Six Sigma, Lean, Project Management
Demonstrated experience using problem solving & Six Sigma statistical tools (including A3, 8D, Problem Definition, Data Collection, Brainstorming, 5 Whys, Fishbone, Cause & Effect, Error Proofing, Variation Analysis, SPC, MSA, and DOE) to solve problems
Demonstrated experience with Eaton Business System Elements (EQS, PROLaunch, EHS and MESH, or market equivalent prefered.
Training - Eaton Business Systems, Eaton Quality Systems, Eaton Business Excellence Assessment, Eaton Lean Six Sigma, Eaton’s TPC Process
Languages:  Spanish and English communication proficiency
Computer: MS Office / MS Project required and CAD is a plus.
