This position is to provide leadership to a team of Market Research analysts who partner with Eaton business operations for the Vehicles and eMobility Divisions. The incumbent is responsible for global market intelligence function for Vehicles & eMobility and in addition is responsible for managing and mentoring a team of market research analysts for Vehicles, eMobility and Aerospace business.


As part of the SMC organization, this position is responsible for supporting in the developing best-in-class market research function that is counted upon to bring up insights which enable Eaton businesses to grow organically.


Possesses strong understanding of global truck, automotive and eMobility markets and Eaton’s portfolio and will be a key input provider for strategic plan discussions to support long term business planning. The incumbent must have strong experience on secondary market research tools and methodologies, including a well-developed understanding of business, economic influencers and industry. Builds foresight for respective businesses through reporting & analysis of Internal & External research and enables the business to take informed decisions. Uses the visibility across Eaton businesses to develop congruent views on Eaton market segments and supports development of Eaton business strategies


Your essential responsibilities:

  • Manage the Market Research activities of Vehicles and eMobility business.

  • Coach the team to develop more strategic and result focus research.

  • Develop a culture of problem identification and problem solving within the team, to be ‘equal-partners’ with the businesses.

  • Optimize standard reports and analyze ad-hoc report for their criticality and urgency and drive value-based research approach within the team

  • Lead Market research requests which support the Business Strategic Plans and Profit plans.

  • Support the Leadership team by providing Market, Customer, Competitor analysis through research reports and provide need-based solutions.

  • Provides consulting and interpretation of market, competitor, customer, platforms and product research data to the organization.

  • Review and interpret financial performance of Business Operations and report summary findings by customer, channel, and/or product division for SLT.

  • Would be responsible for periodic reports that include market and business information which is due from Business to the Sector and the SLT.


If you are/have:

  • MBA / higher degree with 5-7 years of experience in Vehicles (truck and automotive) Market Research/ Market Intelligence.  

  • Significant and proven experience with both qualitative and quantitative state of the art research methodologies. Ability to multi-task and be proactive & independent in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Experience in predictive analysis, primary & secondary research.

  • Good understanding of global macro-economic factors which impacts the business.

  • Experience with market trends, customer expectations and economic analysis.

  • Able to articulate insights in a concise way, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to translate complex reports and analyses into simple ‘business speak’ and present results to internal customers up to the SLT level.

  • Ability to connect the dots and generate insights, prioritize business questions and recommendations.

  • Strong demonstration of ability to effectively work collaboratively across the functional organizations.

  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of data into an organized collection of information to gain new insights.

  • Strong understanding of marketing strategy, planning issues, priority setting.

  • Results oriented, independent and self-motivating.

  • High degree of problem solving and decision-making skills.

  • Familiar with business intelligence systems like OBIEE.

  • Must interface with Sales, Marketing, Product, IT and Finance functions.
