Senior QMS & Supplier Quality Engineer

Job Description

The QMS and Supplier Quality Engineer will achieve, sustain and promote a quality culture using Eaton’s Quality Management System to continually improve, monitor, develop, communicate and maintain robust quality activities, alongside managing supplier relationships to ensure supplier issues are resolved in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge, practice and application of the Product/Process and Quality System standards of the International Certification Body ISO9001:2015, Industry Specific Regulatory Authorities (VDS, LPCB, NF) and Customer contractually specific Quality Requirements

  • Responsible for the effective coaching, and guidance of employees in relation to Quality Management Systems

  • Conduct quality function risk assessments to report to the top management the performance of the quality management system and propose any necessary improvements

  • Audit system: plan and monitor the effectiveness of system audits to identify nonconformities against ISO 9001 standards and company procedures, ensuring that effective corrective and preventive measures are taken

  • Leadership and participation in internal Quality Systems and product audits.

  • Assist in developing, changes controlling and keeping all documents related to the quality management system

  • Analyze non-warranty customer concerns, prepare problem solving reports, assure implementation and verification of corrective/preventative actions.

  • Analyze Dock Audits, Yield measurement and Scrap reports to enable corrective and preventive actions are in place

  • Monitor supplier quality through incoming inspection and provide rapid response for any quality problems

  • Issuing defect material reports (DMR) to suppliers and working with them to implement corrective and preventative actions to prevent fault reoccurrence Ensures that deficiencies due to suppliers are claimed using the 8D reporting system

  • Analyse key performance indicators with respect to supplier quality performance including DPPM (defect parts per million) with responsibility for KPI charts weekly / monthly and associated action plans including but not limited to Rework, Scrap and Cost of non-conformance.Support the Supply Chain Management organisation relative to the collection and analysis of supplier quality data and assist suppliers with product and process quality requirements to ensure continuous improvement of the quality of the goods supplied

  • Supporting suppliers in the completion of Supplier Self Assessments (SSA)

  • Continuously improve supplier quality performance by ensuring open communication and resolution of issues in a timely and effective manner by facilitating 8D process improvements




Qualifications

Essential:

  • Experience in the implementation, management, and continual improvement of ISO:9001:2015 quality management systems

  • Proactive attitude and continuous improvement mindset

  • Strong verbal and written communication

  • Analytical thinking

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Interpersonal and influencing skills, ability to coordinate with other departments

  • Excellent organisational skills, ability to multi-task and execute own work initiatives

  • Strong understanding Microsoft software packages

  • Knowledge of common quality tools and processes – PFMEA, 8D, A3, 5 Whys, etc.

 

Desirable:

  • Experience in using SAP ERP system or similar

  • Understanding of PCBA and manufacturing assembly processes

  • Ability to read Bills of Materials, and General Assembly (Mechanical) drawings,

  • Fully conversant with Microsoft Office products and MINITAB statistical software
