Engineer Supplier Process

Job Description

  • Manage the supplier quality function in the effort to develop, implement, and maintain world-class quality results that ensure supplier quality results meet goal - including recovery of cost related to poor quality.

  • ·         Proactively lead and address all supplier related quality issues including problem solving with the suppliers.

    ·         Conduct detailed drawing and specification reviews with suppliers prior to outsourcing products and awarding business and supplier APQP reviews using cross-functional teams for all outsourced products prior to approving PPAP.

    ·         Lead PPAP process of new and modified components.

    ·         Assess supplier's competence/limitations with respect to measurement, testing and inspection systems ensuring acceptable gage correlation prior to PPAP.

    ·         Manage supplier corrective actions, ensuring thorough root cause analysis.

    ·         Provide feedback to production, manufacturing, quality regarding supplier open quality issues.

    ·         Organize incoming inspection process (including Control plan, Trouble shooting).

    ·         Initiate and manage sort process of defective component (including cost analysis).

    ·         Perform annual on-site supplier process review.

    ·         Initiate and lead supplier chargeback process of defective material.

    ·         Taking a part/lead process audits at supplier locations.

    ·         WISPER system maintenance.

















  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical or other approved discipline.

  • Three years minimum manufacturing or quality experience with a knowledge of blueprint reading, statistical methods, problem solving, industry quality standards, and continuous improvement tools.

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques and processes.

  • Knowledge of automotive quality standards and tools including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, 8Ds, SPC.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Measurement methodology knowledge.

  • Interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Technical report writing skills.
