Warehouse Manager

Job Description

Eaton’s Lighting Division is currently seeking a Warehouse Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Aurora, Colorado facility.

 

This position reports to the Plant Manager and leads the Manufacturing Engineering team prioritizing what tasks need to be completed on a daily/weekly basis. The primary function of the Warehouse Manager is to manage the performance of our warehouse to include inventory control and strategy, execution of cycle counts, freight & carrier management, plant maintenance activities and the department’s talent management.

 

In collaboration with plant leadership, the Warehouse Manager will be responsible for the daily activities of the warehouse to include overall warehouse organization, shipping & receiving, scheduling of warehouse personnel (material handling and cycle counting) to meet overall plant needs, and proper staffing to select and receive products at the facility in a productive and cost-effective manner.

In this function you will:
 
  • Provide visible leadership and guidance to all warehouse staff to foster continuous improvements and best practices; Maintains continuous engagement with all warehouse stakeholders (plant leadership to warehouse staff); Coach, train and develop warehouse personnel to ensure accountability, in addition to goal and priority alignment; foster collaboration and common goal setting in a matrix environment.

  • Initiate process and procedure improvements resulting in higher inventory accuracy and part accountability/

  • Maintain data accuracy in areas such as attendance, quality and productivity metrics as well as identify and implement any corrective actions.

  • Lead efforts to control costs through inventory strategies, freight/carrier management and elimination of waste through lean strategy implementation.

  • Be responsible for proper maintenance of warehouse equipment, to include forklifts, providing both preventative maintenance programs and all necessary repairs. Ensures that the warehouse personnel have safe, efficient equipment to perform the distribution functions.

  • Partner with commercial product line leaders and customer service

  • Be responsible for shift talent management, employee engagement and performance management – assessing current team members, identifying needs, selecting talent, and developing current employees to ensure “bench strength” and continued development and advancement of top talent within the organization; Provide coaching, motivation, and counseling to employees to encourage optimum performance and continued skill development.

  • Ensure maintenance of records and reports on productivity, quality, and attendance across the shift.

  • Engage leaders in manufacturing LEAN initiatives including but not limited to operator standard work, 5S, pull systems, empowered work teams, and structured problem solving.

     
     

Eaton has announced it has reached an agreement to sell its Lighting Business to Signify N.V. This transaction is expected to be completed in the first Quarter of 2020 and this position is expected to remain with the Lighting Business and would transfer to Signify N.V. upon close.  The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton’s plans, programs and practices.  If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Lighting Business when the transaction closes, you will be eligible to participate in Signify N.V.’s compensation, health, welfare, and retirement benefit plans and programs and should have no expectations that Signify N.V’s plans and programs will mirror or be substantially similar to Eaton’s.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required.

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a warehouse or distribution center operations environment.

  • Minimum 1 year of prior people management experience.

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without out company sponsorship, now or in the future.

  • No relocation is being offered for this role.  All candidates considered must live within 50 miles of the Aurora, CO facility.

 
 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lighting and/or electrical industry experience

  • Experience using SAP
  • Bilingual in Spanish language
