Eaton’s Electrical Automation Solutions, Electrical Sector - Americas is currently seeking a Project Planner/Scheduler to join our team. This position is based at our Plymouth, MN location.

The primary function of the Project Portfolio Planner is to deliver value for Customers and Eaton through execution of the project order management processes established by the Deployment Department Manager. The Project Portfolio Planner reports to the Deployment Department Manager. The Project Portfolio Planner is responsible for planning and reconciliation associated with project order fulfillment for specific customer accounts. This position manages projects within the established time-to-install, delivery/commitment performance, cost, quality, and customer satisfaction targets approved for the project(s). The project(s) arise from sales contracts and require integration of EAS and Customer actions to deliver, install and commission systems within the customer organization.

In this function you will:
  • Assure timely responses and follow-up commitments to customers

  • Facilitate project communications between Project Managers and Project Engineers

  • Prepare baseline schedules and schedule basis documents for approval by project team

  • Monitor schedule deviations and variances as relates to software and firmware releases. Assure credibility of the information contained in the schedule

  • Review schedules with project team members on a regular basis to ensure that accurate and timely data is incorporated in the schedule

  • Maintain schedule forecast by gathering activity update information from all functional groups as needed.

  • Responsible for communicating schedule status to project stakeholders.

  • Support proposal efforts with pro-forma schedule development.

  • Synchronization of Job Log, Work Orders, and Change Orders. 
  • Make project assignments w/ input from the Deployment Department Manager.

  • Exchange project data with the Internal Sales and Production Scheduling Teams.

  • Expedite Return Material Authorizations and Shipment Lead Times
  • Set up internal job folders and load the controlling purchase orders, proposals, propagation studies, schedule baselines that form the basis of each incoming order.

  • Work within project groups interfacing with finance, applications, and various other personnel to achieve project deadlines and support needs of finance, engineering, and operations.

  • Forecast the deployment revenue stream based on project schedules including probability, risk, and opportunities.

  • Prepare and issue status reports to customers in compliance with the scheduled defined by the Project Manager

  • Proactively communicate in a timely manner with external customers about order verification, order status, and shipment status. Communicate in a timely manner with operations to verify lead times, schedule customer orders according to their delivery needs and communicate special handling requests.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

  • 5+ years of inside sales, customer service, or equivalent project coordination experience.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.  Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Plymouth, MN will be considered.  Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Project Management Institute Scheduling Professional Certification

  • Electric utility project experience
  • Proven track record of demonstrating teamwork, time management, customer service skills, and ability to multi-task in an interrupt-based environment

  • Microsoft Project or equivalent project scheduling software experience

Position Criteria:
  • Support 75+ customer orders for 15+ internal stakeholders with shipments >$35MM per fiscal year
  • Ability to obtain results using indirect or proxied authority.
  • Strong Organization skills
  • Demonstrated ability to create visual reporting of complex data in innovative ways.
  • Knowledge of front-end scheduling, engineering, and manufacturing process and lead times.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and situations to achieve superior proactive project order management and customer service
  • Ability to prioritize risk and judge the best time to escalate potential issues.
