Eaton’s Hydraulic division is currently seeking a Quality Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Queretaro facility.

The Quality Manager is responsible for:

  • Overall quality performance of processes and products incoming/outgoing Querétaro Operations. Provides support to operations on decision making quality events affecting line throughput, product functionality, product safety and overall customer satisfaction.

  • Ensure full compliance to external / internal quality standards and customer specific requirements and procedures

  • Main interface to customers for all quality and operation related issues.

  • Leads continuous improvement activities based on corporate procedures and policies.

Some activities related with the position will be:

  • Responsible for quality customer performance. Drives action into operations that lead to meet and exceed customer targets for Parts Per Million, Customer Complaints and Customer Satisfaction.

  • Provides quality team with tools for an effective problem-solving process, driving root cause analysis and leading corrective action teams to execution.

  • Provides technical support for quality issues affecting product/process throughput, product functionality and product safety.

  • Manages quality engineering team, provides strategy for quality initiatives within operations.

  • Responsible for maintaining external / internal quality standard and/or certifications, such as: IATF 16949 and other applicable. Ensure that Quality Automotive Group standards are observed, implemented and fully understood in operations. Be the management representative for quality management system.

  • Provides direct response to customer when quality issues arise at customer sites.

  • Drives continuous improvement at operations through Quality approach leveraging resources at all areas and groups

  • Reports out quality. Drive actions for improvement in those metrics and lead actions plans toward goals

  • Provides periodic reports to general management for quality status in operations

  • Provides functional report to Quality organization at Vehicle group level. Leads actions to ensure all functional metrics are met and exceeded.

  • Comply with requirements of Quality & Environmental Management Systems

  • Include EHS Changes in future state VSM and Identify and direct Lean + EHS Project

  • MESH Category Champion
  • Assure full compliance with CI metrics

  • Implement Regional CI strategies.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

  • Strong quality and statistics background required.

  • Minimum 10 years experience applying quality tools in a manufacturing environment. Automotive preferred. At least 5 years of experience at management level within a manufacturing environment.

  • ASQ QE certification preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Solid knowledge of engineering techniques & manufacturing processes

  • Thorough knowledge of statistics & statistical process control, including MSA.

  • Knowledge of metrology, including CMM application

  • Computer literacy, including spreadsheets, statistical programs, database maintenance

  • Thorough knowledge of geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T) principles

  • Proficiency in problem solving & quality techniques, such as: Six Sigma Blackbelt or Greenbelt, Shainin Red X Tools (Journeyman level preferred) .

  • Extensive knowledge and experience on AIAG Core Tools:

    • SPC
    • PFMEA
    • PPAP
    • APQP
    • MSA
  • Ability to communicate in the English language (100%) and hold discussions and presentation

  • Solid knowledge on IATF 16949, ISO 14001 – Lead Auditor certification preferred
