Repair Development Engineer

Eaton’s Aerospace Group is currently seeking a Repair Development Engineer to join our

team. This position is based at our Beltsville, MD office.

Position Overview:

This position is responsible for the development of new repairs for the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul business. Additionally, the role interfaces with various vendors/suppliers and will be required to develop new repair sources. This role develops component drawings and works with suppliers to procure them in a short lead time environment.

In this function you will:
  • Develop and execute cost effective repair procedures for Eaton, non-Eaton and government regulatory agencies’ products

  • Research and comply with all required regulatory approvals for Aero Repair Station

  • Exploration of topics relating to – customers, markets, products, suppliers, competition, technology trends, economic drivers, and financial indicators.

  • Provide frequent and effective two-way communication with internal and external customers in a timely manner

  • Partner with cross functional team to deliver new repair schemes in short lead time

  • Schedule and attend visits to customers to promote repair capabilities as requested, and perform regulatory audits as needed

  • Travel as required to customers, other Eaton locations, etc. to meet customer needs

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering field from an accredited institution

  • Minimum of three (3) years of engineering experience
    Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future

  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.  Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Beltsville, MD will be considered.  Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution

  • Working in FAA Part 145 repair station environment

  • 5 years of Aerospace industry experience working with component or system design and manufacturing

Position Criteria:
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work in a matrix environment, get results and drive change through others.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills as well as planning and organizational skills.

  • Must obtain FAA/EASA/CAAC approval via a Consultant DER

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

  • Please note, certain duties performed by this role require this position to be subject to the guidelines of our Repair Station Certificate and are subject to DOT drug testing.
