Press Brake Operator - 2nd Shift

Eaton’s Electrical Group is currently seeking a Press Brake Operator - 2nd shift to join our team. This position is in our Aurora, CO facility.


The primary function of the Press Brake Operator is to machine raw materials into useable goods for further assembly.

In this function you will:
  • Set up and operate Amada brake presses and associated machinery to meet production requirements
  • Gather, preset and install proper tooling and fixtures of press brakes
  • Run first piece and assure conformance to technical drawings
  • Inspect all parts as required by process sheet and drawings, using all types of precision measuring instruments
  • Monitor Press Brake production processes at appropriate intervals to ensure continued part compliance and time standards
  • Maintain an orderly working and storage area
  • Observe safety & environmental rules and regulations at all times
  • Troubleshoot various machinery problems and perform preventative maintenance activities including lubrication, guarding and cleanliness

Eaton has announced its intent to spinoff its Lighting Business into publicly traded company (“SpinCo”). This transaction is expected to be completed by the end of 2019 and this position is expected to remain with SpinCo. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton’s plans, programs and practices. The Lighting Business is in the process of developing its total rewards philosophy, strategy and structure, including the design of its benefits and annual and long-term incentive plans that will take effect when SpinCo becomes a publicly traded company. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Lighting Business when SpinCo becomes an independent, publicly traded company, you will be eligible to participate in SpinCo’s compensation, health, welfare, and retirement benefit plans and programs and should have no expectations that SpinCo’s plans and programs will mirror or be substantially similar to Eaton’s.

Basic Qualifications:
  • High School education or equivalent (i.e., diploma or GED) from an accredited institution required.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience operating CNC machinery and/or CNC certification
  • Only candidates living within 50 miles of Aurora, CO will be considered. Relocation benefits are not provided for this position. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US on a permanent and consistent basis without company sponsorship. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Armada CNC press brakes and/or turrets
  • Experience with programming CNC machines : Amada CNC Press Brake set up and operation experience.
  • Experience working with blue prints, micrometers and calipers
  • NC-9 and  NT controller experience
  • Ability to hold tolerances of  +/-  .010  across multiple bends.
  • Good understanding of flat pattern development.
  • Some Mastercam CAD/CAM software experience
Position Criteria:
  • Able to stand on feet continuously during working shift
  • Able to lift 25 pounds consistently without assistance, 75 pounds occasionally with assistance
  • High level of technical drawing interpretation with the ability to train others
  • Must be able to wear required PPE as required by company policy
  • Ability to read, interpret and operate from prints and shop drawings
  • Ability to work flexible hours to support overtime requirements
  • Able to work and produce effectively with minimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate well with all levels of organization
  • Ability to work as a team member
Tools and Equipment:
  • Include micrometers, calipers, tape measurers, rulers, protractors, personal protective equipment and punch press setup tools
