Eaton’s Electrical sector is currently seeking a Quality Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Washington, PA facility, nearest to the Pittsburgh, PA area. Relocation assistance will be provided.


Position Overview:

This position is a member of the Washington Leadership Team and provides overall leadership for Quality and Automation within the Washington facility. Key responsibilities include driving the long-term automation plan at the operational level, as well as implementing strategic initiatives to ensure our continued success in the deployment of the EQS (Eaton Quality Systems). This position is a thought-leader in the automation space, while ensuring compliance with quality systems and processes.

In this function you will:
  • Serve as an active member of the Washington Leadership team, fulfilling leadership duties and providing input for strategy, direction& continuous improvement

  • Deploy quality plan at the operational level in conjunction with the Division Quality group to provide overall quality leadership to the site.

  • Design and oversee implementation of new automation concepts and equipment that align with the business strategy.

  • Provide support in total quality leadership to customers, suppliers, business partners, and the other support service functions such as supply chain, production, and other division resources.

  • Manage a capital budget that facilitates long-term growth while balancing short-term needs of the business.

  • Implement systems and processes that deliver cost out while improving productivity.

  • Drive rigorous metrics related to the BSC to evaluate performance and drive reduction in variability/defects in critical business processes.

  • Motivate, train and guide direct reports to improve organizational performance.  Manage peer relationships to drive priorities and learning throughout the plant.

  • Build relationships with other Division and Corporate resources in order to support identification, review, prioritization and execution of key improvement opportunities/projects to drive results

  • Support EBS integration through detailed understanding and effective deployment of processes and tools – including obtaining training & certifications and acting as process champion as required (e.g. EBE, OpA, MESH, Lean Six Sigma)

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory entities such as UL, CSA, ISO

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or Technical Discipline from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience working in a Manufacturing and/or Quality function.

  • Minimum one (1) year work experience managing people

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous Project Management Experience

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer

  • Experience working to ISO9001 Quality System Standards

Position Success Criteria:
  • Strong understanding and experience with Quality Management System body of knowledge of UL and ISO standards

  • Broad technical knowledge in the areas of manufacturing processes, quality, plant engineering.

  • Broad financial knowledge for asset management, budgeting and profit plan obtainment.

  • Knowledge of behavioral science, including the ability to motivate, counsel, and constructively deal with people at all levels.

  • Strong leadership skills; must be capable of leading the organization on a continuous journey of sustained improvement.

  • Strong interpersonal skills used for the review, motivation, and development of direct reports in addition to building relationships with internal and external customers

  • Knowledge of lean concepts and process.
