Production Superintendent

Job Description

Eaton’s Vehicles division is currently seeking an Operations Coordinator to join our team. This position is based at our Reynosa facility.

The Operations Coordinator is responsible for ensure daily production goals achieved through efficient management of resources and sense of urgency addressing issues in real time – Safety, Quality, OTD, Productivity & Cost.

  • Ensure safety & quality controls and activities are executed as intended on daily basis by production personnel (TPM, LVS, 5S+).

  • Monitor production performance through the hour by hour boards and ensure group leaders and production supervisors are on top of the issues to achieve their hourly rates. 

  • Pull the required resources to ensure issues are addressed with sense of urgency (equipment, tooling, quality, etc.).

  • Participate in Tier 1 daily accountability meetings and ensure standardization across the lines and compliance with process objectives (review of results in key metrics and assignment of actions to address unresolved issues).

  • Develop and execute manning strategies to maximize absorption.

  • Partner with HR to implement a robust operator certification process to achieve flexibility through knowledgeable and skilled personnel (safety, quality & standard work). 

  • Embrace continuous improvement initiatives, executing cost out projects and supporting KPS (Key process Standards – HBH, Gemba, Espera, etc.).

  • Natural back up for Operations Manager (leading Tier 2, attending Tier 3, Fast response, Gemba walks, etc.)

  • Apply the Safety and Environmental principles and methodology to prevent accidents.

  • Shop floor champion for 5S+ deployment and Standard work execution (Playbook).

  • Generate and maintain a simple production database to support WebOEE, but also to keep historic production data, (qty of changeovers, 5S+ level, SW, OT, Customer complaints related to process, absorption, Improvement ideas, etc.).

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Engineering degree.

  • + 5 years of experience on automotive production environments.

  • Excellent communication and human relations skills and the ability to lead and motivate people.

  • Administrative skills to include planning, coordinating, team building, organization and time management.

  • Problem solving and decision-making skills.

  • Knowledge of assembly processes and equipment, industrial engineering, production planning and quality methods.

  • Ability to manage up and down to address issues.

  • Bilingual  (Spanish-English).
