Quality Supervisor

Job Description

Eaton’s Electrical sector is currently seeking a Quality Supervisor to join our team. This position is based at our Beaver, PA facility.

Position Overview:

This position supervises the quality technicians and leads the continuous improvement activities in support of the Eaton Quality System (EQS) and the Eaton Business System (EBS) as the “voice of the customer” for the facility. Driving focus will be on quality performance, continuous improvement and PPM reduction. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing quality concepts such as Control Plans, SPC, FMEA, Corrective Action/8D’s. The role actively strives to improve manufacturing processes by utilizing variation reduction methodologies such as Capability Studies, DOE and Six Sigma. This position is charged with ensuring compliance to ISO Quality Management Systems.

In this function you will:
  • Interface with Customers to understand their issues with the product and resolve those issues.

  • Supervise the Quality Technicians in the Beaver Facility.

  • Communicate expectations and consistently holds self and direct reports accountable for performance     .

  • Organize the training and development of direct reports to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to successfully attain their goals.

  • Develop and implement corrective actions including verification activities.

  • Develop programs policies and activities to proactively improve the quality of Beaver’s products by identifying, defining, and implementing quality standards and procedures for manufacturing processes.

  • Assist with the establishment of plant’s quality measurements to meet division quality assurance requirements.

  • Collect, analyze and report monthly on all relevant processes and information for balanced scorecard.

  • Host Customer and Third Party Auditors including UL, KEMA, CSA, ISO, CQC, ABS, EQS, Westinghouse Nuclear, Navy and other Customer specific assessments

  • Work with other members of the Quality Department, and other functional groups in the facility, to ensure compliance with Eaton’s quality management systems and ISO9001.

  • Coordinate quality department efforts during absence or manager.

  • Lead or support cross-functional teams assigned to process improvement projects and problem-solving teams.

  • Other duties as assigned

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science or Technical Discipline from an accredited institution required.

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ work experience in a Quality, Manufacturing and/or Engineering function within a manufacturing environment.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and in the future.

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 50 miles of the Beaver, PA facility will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of experience working in a Quality Engineering role

  • Prior supervisory experience
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence and/or Six Sigma Black/Green Belt certification.

  • Trained internal auditor (ISO9000 or ASQ Certified Quality Auditor) and experience performing quality audits.

  • Experience either managing or supporting ISO 9001 and Eaton Quality Management systems (EQS).

  • Ability to read and understand blue prints, specifications, and requirements including GD&T.

  • Knowledge of metrology, (including application and programming preferred)

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Team-orientated problem-solving skills and root cause / corrective action methodology

  • Knowledge of quality techniques including statistical methods used to analyze and control process variations, capability studies and PFMEA

  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodology

  • Knowledgeable in the use of scales, calipers, micrometers and other quality control equipment
