Lead System Engineer


The purpose of this role is for the successful candidate to utilize their unique skills and technical knowledge to lead multiple large-scale projects working with global teams. 



You will ensure project objectives are met, preparing review documents including cost estimates, , project schedules,  system specifications, operating manuals, and technical reports. 


Performing failure analysis, investigating and troubleshooting issues, you will coordinate all project work within the scope.


Understand and incorporate external trends into relevant projects.


Your key deliverables:

  • Ensures that technical, regulatory and commercial requirements are properly understood and that design implementations meet these requirements

  • Maintains the configuration and analysis of aircraft fuel system architectures

  • Liaise with specialists to develops system interface, functional, performance and safety requirements.

  • Produces component specifications.

  • Plans validation, verification and integration activities, interprets test results and produces test reports.

  • Acts as technical point of contact with customer and with internal teams – EIEC and CoEs

  • Represent the organization at customer technical meetings and design reviews

  • Completes the project metrics to support internal technical and project management reviews.

  • Liaising with internal and external suppliers to ensure products are compliant to requirements

  • Performs basic thermal and fluid mechanical analysis to determine compliance to performance requirements

  • Conducts failure investigations using problem solving methodology such as 8D

  • You will be responsible for pulling together projects

  • Working alongside teams developing components

  • Customer contact regarding interface agreements





Are you ?


Are your degree qualified within aerospace, mechanical or electrical engineering?

Are you working towards or already have your Green Belt Six Sigma?

You will have a minimum of 5 years working within the engineering function

Knowledge of aerospace systems engineering processes is ideal

Knowledge of civil aviation regulations governing system designs would be a benefit

Solid analyst experience design experience is not essential

Knowledge of aerospace safety, reliability and maintainability processes and practices

Knowledge of fluid and thermodynamic principles applicable to aircraft fuel systems, fuel tank inerting and fuel tank venting systems

Knowledge of system control theory and techniques desirable

Knowledge of ARP4754A System Development process desirable

Professional manner and ability to work well with customers

Ability to present at internal and external technical and commercial reviews at senior level

Communication skills– both verbal and written with ability to make necessary status reports

Organizational and planning skills

Some lead experience within a project

Supervisory experience not a must
