Eaton is seeking an Continuous Improvement (CI) Manager for its Milton Plant. The CI Manager position will be located in Milton, Ontario, Canada.
The Continuous Improvement Manager will act as a member of the Site Leadership Team, the primary function of the CI Manager is to improve organizational effectiveness, and build a culture of innovation & continuous improvement, through the coordination and deployment of the Eaton Business System. This role will lead key CI projects, processes, and initiatives to ensure that operational, financial, and continuous improvement objectives are met, in accordance with safety, quality, and customer requirements. The CI Manager is also responsible for coordinating and driving implementation of the Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF) across the Plant. He/she will manage the Manufacturing Engineering & Lean Departments, serving as a subject matter expert and providing ongoing coaching/mentorship and support to internal stakeholders to advance Site Eaton Lean Six Sigma (ELSS) program deployment/maturity.

Initiate, lead, and facilitate successful Kaizen events/Continuous Improvement events and Business Process Improvements (BPI) for the Milton facility.
Serve as Tool Expert in all ELSS/CI Tools with emphasis on Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work and 5S+, and develop local ELSS/CI Tool Champions and Experts by providing training and consulting support.
Provide site Lean and Six Sigma training/mentorship, serving as Site subject matter expert.
Provide additional support in other areas of Operational Excellence (EHS, EQMS, and EBS Pull) as needed.
Direct the development and implementation of cost, productivity and strategic manufacturing programs consistent with plant objectives.
Establish & monitor CI KPI’s, based upon Plant Key Operator Factors and objectives, ensuring alignment & comprehension at all levels of the operation.
Support the development and implementation of manufacturing plans to meet facility sales and inventory objectives.
Advance Eaton Lean Six Sigma program deployment/maturity through training, facilitation and deployment of resources.
Conduct annual Eaton Lean Six Sigma (ELSS) self-assessment, identifying performance gaps & opportunities for improvement. Works through the leadership team to prioritize improvement activities and close gaps.
Provide Operational Assessment (OpA) support across the organization to drive short-term and long-term business improvements, serving as a change agent & mentor to help accelerate Site Model Plant journey.
Identify and eliminate process variations resulting in external and internal failures through 8-D corrective action, Six Sigma, and other ELSS tools and processes.
Deliver aggressive annual cost savings, while enhancing safety & product quality, through creation, optimization, and standardization of processes by Mfg. Engineering & Lean resources.
Support/mentor Mfg. Engineering resources to determine manufacturing methods and machine or line loading to produce parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies for new products or customer orders requiring extensive planning consistent with overall division objectives.
Support Lean, Six Sigma, and PROLaunch, overseeing the creation & maintenance of Process Maps, Standard Work, Takt Times, Potential Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Control Plans, and Workstation Risk Assessments.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Manufacturing, industrial or Electrical), Commerce, or equivalent College Diploma.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory position.
- Must be authorized to work in the Canada without company sponsorship.
- Must reside within a 80 km range from Milton; Eaton doesn't offer relocation.
- Licensed P.Eng or CET, PMP and/or MBA would be considered an asset.
- Training and experience with Lean and Six Sigma Tools; LSS Green or Black Belt strongly preferred.
- Strong technical acumen paired with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Experience in leading project/teams and mentoring/coaching employees.
- Passion for innovation and continuous improvement, and willingness to challenge status quo.
