Job Description

Eaton's Energy Automation Solutions Division is looking for a Quality Assurance Developer. This position is located at our office in St-Bruno-de-Montarville, Quebec.

Position Overview:

As part of a multidisciplinary development team, the Quality Assurance Developer will participate in the testing, the quality control and the automation of test scripts for the software and high technology projects in the field of analysis and modeling of electricity distribution networks and renewable energies.

In this function you will:

  • Ensure quality of the final product by finding functional, compatibility and performance issues in the software before release.

  • Develop Test Plans, Test cases, Test Procedures for various types of testing such as Functional, GUI, Integration, Regression, Data Validation and overall system integration.

  • Implement reliable and maintainable test automation solutions to control the regression of the software using the company's test automation framework.

  • Continuously improve automated testing methodologies to enable QA team to maximize test coverage of the full depth of enterprise products.

  • Report defects found in software and confirm issue resolution and potential side effects of changes

Qualifications

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent from an accredited institution.

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in test automation and applying software testing techniques
  • Minimum of three years of experience in programming (C++/C#, Java and/or Python).
  • Fluency in English, French (working proficiency).
  • Relocation is not being offered for this position. Only candidates residing within a 80km-radius of Montreal, Quebec will be considered.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in software testing or equivalent
  • Experience in performance testing and tools (e.g. JMeter)
  • Knowledge in power system engineering
  • Ability to learn quickly and apply new concepts, principles, and solutions
  • Possess a good sense of diplomacy and respect for colleagues
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical and time management skills
