Eaton’s Emobility division is currently seeking a Controller to join our team. This position is based at our Reynosa facility


The Controller is responsible for establishing, coordinating and administering, as an integral part of the management team, an adapting plan for the control of the operation. Compares performance with operating plans and goals and to report and interpret the results of operations to all levels of management. To consult with functional management responsible for policy and action concerning any phase of the operation that relates to attainment of objectives and effectiveness of policies. Assure protection for the assets of the operation through internal control, internal audit and proper insurance identification.

Some activities related with the position will be:

  • Leads profit planning process, capital justification programs, forecasting, budgeting, cost standards and procedures for making the plan.

  • Formulates local accounting policy, coordinates systems and procedures.  Prepares operating data and special reports as required.

  • Through various techniques, discipline and objectivity, assists other functions of the operation to optimize their programs.

  • Reviews and appraises plans for acquisitions, procedural changes and production source alternatives.

  • Maintains a working relationship with internal and external audit, customers and suppliers.

  • Establishes, coordinates and administers local financial systems, management controls and related areas.

  • Manages policies and procedures in support of fiduciary responsibility.

  • As an integral part of management and planning participant, advises the Plant Manager on all important matters.

  • Appraises budgets, generates forecasts and monitors/reports operating results.

  • Serves on Plant Steering Committee.  Supports general management initiatives as well as directly providing financial and information technology perspectives.

  • Provides accounting administrative support and facilitates overall direction.

  • Efficient, cost-effective, consistent and seamless end-to-end electronic transaction processing and financial reporting

  • Comprehensive internal control structure and disclosure control environment for complete compliance with reporting provisions

  • Insightful analysis of operating environment and emerging trends

  • Thorough understanding of alternative accounting approaches to complex and multi-faceted transactions



Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • BBA/BS Degree -Accounting (Finance) major and a minimum of five years diversified, progressive experience in the manufacturing environment, some of which may have been gained in public accounting (audit), with an emphasis in manufacturing accounting (cost, forecasting, planning) including supervision. 

  • Must have accounting knowledge; CPA or CMA preferred but not required. 

  • Must be PC computer/software literate and have a communicable knowledge of mainframe support/applications and manufacturing systems/functional interrelationships. 

  • Must have a thorough knowledge of computerized accounting systems and related subsidiary ledgers systems. 

  • Ideally, this knowledge would be of Eaton company policies and corporate and plant systems as they relate to all phases of accounting and to the total manufacturing environment.

  • Solid background and understanding of the application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as they apply to manufacturing.

  • Experience in standard costing and application of costs and rates such as material, labor, burden

  • Internal controls process creation, implementation, and sustainability

  • Must operate as a team player and provide example and guidance of the same to peers and subordinates.  A total quality approach and broad deployment of the same is imperative to the success of the position. 

  • Well establish verbal and written communication skills are a requisite.
