Eaton’s Vehicle Sector is seeking a Continuous Improvement Intern to work at the Kearney, NE facility.
This is a paid internship based in Kearney, Nebraska that Eaton is looking to hire one student for. The chosen candidate will have the option to participate in the internship for up to four years (a minimum of one-year internship participation is expected; more than one year of participation is ideal). The internship will be 19.5 hours a week during the academic year, with up to 40 hours a week available during the summer. Students participating in this internship will be eligible to be hired into the company upon graduation.
Learn the Eaton Lean System (ELS) through hands-on training and tool application in a large, fast-paced automotive production environment.
Lead and participate in CI (Continuous Improvement) projects and Rapid Improvement Events (RIE's; Also known as Level 3 Kaizen events) to support plant improvement initiatives and cost out.
Have fun, while learning, educating and deploying the tools
Develop hands on experience with the CIF (Continuous Improvement Framework) and lean tools through working closely with shop floor supervisors, employees and Operations leaders in the plant.
Develop problem solving skills through utilization of the A3 & 8D Structured Problem-Solving methods.
Develop project management skill set.
Develop interpersonal communication skills and business acumen.
Must be actively enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s Degree program
Must have a GPA of a 2.8 or higher (please do not round)
Must be at least one academic year from completing degree
No relocation is being offered for this role. The candidate must reside within 50 miles of Kearney, NE.
